Give the gift of Treats!

Let's face it, this year giving presents will be a bit tough with the economy in the crapper. What better excuse to get into our kitchens and make stuff?!! It's fun, rewarding and it's a great way to show people that you care!!

I also find that baking late at night with a cocktail is VERY therapeutic. Agreed?

So I've compiled a little mash up of ideas for you!

If you want to treat your friends & family to some amazing candy, make:

For tonight's dinner, I made Sweet Potato & Chipotle Soup from the current issue of Everyday Food.

I am definitely adding this one to the Soup Rotation!

The recipe is labeled-"Smooth & Creamy with a Dash of Spice."

They aren't kidding!  You would never guess that there isn't cream in this soup.  It's velvety and thick!  Definitely coats the back of a spoon.

Thanksgiving Roundup!!!

So I had a little request from lovely Alex of Strawberry Lemonade to do a little roundup of my Thanksgiving pasts/ideas. My mom always hosts Thanksgiving, so most of the weight of the day is on her. She rocks. She's traditional. She makes a wonderful spread!

For our Thanksgiving, I bring a sweet potato dish topped with pecans & a HUGE batch creamed spinach to the party.  I've never blogged the recipes to either one (which kinda shocks me!) Maybe I should....

The past few years I've made a fluffy pumpkin tiramisu for dessert, but it usually never gets finished cuz everyone in my family stuffs themselves all day long and never saves room for dessert! I hate that!  It tastes good, but it has a shelf life!

If you are looking for some Thanksgiving ideas, I've compiled a few!

If you are on appetizer duty,

Make a Sundried Tomato Goat Cheese Log!

Savory Chicken Pocket Pies

Let me begin by telling you how IN LOVE I am with this book!

Mad Hungry: Feeding Men & Boys by Lucinda Scala Quinn (The Executive Food Director for Martha Stewart Living)  It's beautifully written and OMG the inside is a graph designer's dream.  It's like Blueprint magazine made a cookbook filled with the tastiest looking man food!

I started to mark the recipes I wanted to make with tags and then I had to stop because I found myself marking EVERY SINGLE PAGE.
