Thanks, Foodbuzz!

I attended the Second Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival.

I spent a lot of time with Joy, Janet, Allison & Danielle!  Very fun!

Here’s what happened:

On Friday night Joy & I went to the Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

Where we found tons of people & a lot of cool vendors dishing out tasty food.

There was that cupcake guy again…but this time he had cameras all over him.

We ate a lot, drank some vanilla beer and mingled. Woke up the next morning & had breakfast.

This is Joy’s camera. She dropped it a few times. I can’t wait to see what comes out of it.

It ought to be good.

We had a breakfast pizza that would have been good except for the microwaved eggs on top. ICK.

I had hopes & dreams of a runny yolk on top of it. Sigh….

We thought this dog was cute, and wondered where his actual body was under all that fluff.

What do think his name is? My guess is Hercules.

We did a lot of walking through Chinatown. Saw a lot of the same stuff. So many peculiar smells.

I thought about Casey & Cooper and then saw George on an billboard. The universe made me smile.

We stopped by Anthropologie on our walk and just HAD to go in. I always love their displays.

Plaid dishware! Wouldn’t a white cupcake look so cute on top of this plate?

This place setting was quite fun. That place mat is paper!  WANT.

There was a wall filled with these “orders” and each word was hand sewn. GENIUS.

I thought of my dear friend…I bet she would like this.

Then we headed over to the tasting pavilion at the Metreon. I LOVED this Jalapeno Jam by INNA Jam.

I want it on top of a sweet potato biscuit with cream cheese. Like NOW.

I normally don’t eat shellfish that’s been sitting out (food poisoning paranoia!) but I thought I’d try this.

It was good…but the sauce was kinda too sweet. Very pretty, though.

We spent a lot of time on the roof, in the sun.

The weather was just perfect. Joy wrangled some mini cupcakes for our group.

Oh yeah! Joy & I got some cute scarves at H&M.

Thanks for the tip, Ryan!

Because the tasting pavilion was packed, we weren’t able to eat much food.

So we headed to Out the Door and had some spring rolls, green papaya salad & cellophane noodles with crab.

I’m kinda glad Joy wasn’t a fan of the salad.

It meant more for me!

We walked back home and saw this. That’s a lot of wine.

We remarked at the bars on the top windows of this white building.

San Francisco homes have so much character!

This building was dark gray. Look at that teeny smart car. I think I could knock it over with a flick of my finger.

This was at one of the steepest inclines of our walk.

We talked about people who run and how we are not those people.

We chilled out, put our feet up and got ready for dinner at the Ferry Building.

Look how cook this zucchini quilt is! Great idea, huh?

We mingled & then sat down at our table upstairs at the Ferry Building.

Foodbuzz created quite a feast for us!

A four course menu with wine pairings from Bonny Doon Vineyard.

Soo many wine glasses, so little time.

And then next morning it rained.

I dropped Joy off at the airport.

Had a wonderful reunion with my boys and immediately got to baking in the kitchen.

Pumpkin Cream Pie!

(recipe coming soon!)

Thank you, Foodbuzz! I had such a wonderful weekend because of you!

My tight pants thank you too.

NOT.

  • Danielle

Tracy!! Love your recap, and yes, ‘Hercules’ seems like an appropriate name….too funny! It was great to finally meet you and hear about all the things that you ‘hate’ 😉 Let’s hang out sometime on the sunny peninsula!

  • joy the baker

we had a good time. true story.

  • Jessica

Hercules! I love when tiny dogs have big dog names. 🙂

Anyway, I’ve read a few Foodbuzz recaps and so hope I can go next year! Being pretty new to blogging, I have yet to hang out and pig out other food nerds, but it sounds like so much fun. And omg…that zucchini quilt!!

  • Nicole

Sounds like so much fun. I cannot resist going into Anthropologie and their displays are always amazing. Once they had large paper flowers made out of book pages. Coolest thing ever.

  • Janet

So fun hanging with all you guys! Loved it. Let’s do it again, soon. Though this time I guess we’ll have to pay for the food ourselves. Dang!

PS: Is that breakfast pizza from La Boulange? I am always so disappointed in their eggs, too!

    • Tracy

YES!!! It was. WHAT GIVES? You’d think with all the fancy stuff that they wouldn’t be so lame about EGGS.

Yes…we will do some eating together. On the cheap! <3

  • Deon

I Heart Anthro and I was so excited to see those diner chits in your pic… They are the same in my cities store… meaning someone actually took time to make all of those. Its the little things that make you fall in love with a store. I have actually recreated some of there displays in my house (okay, I sound like a crazy person) but seriously… Though I didnt make the flower out of book pages I really really thought about it @Nicole .

    Cheers,
