Loved this version of the so portuguese and soooo good Caldo Verde Soup. But I do prefer the traditional version with smoked sausage.

You need to visit Portugal and try our soups, our fish, our 365 recipes of smoked cod... you will love them.

as all the rest of our food that does not have international fame but all the foreigners fell in love with it.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

P.S. Just because I think you perharps have curiosity (as I have) in other countries' christmas food, I'll tell you our top 3 (the traditional, but that not everyone - as me - follow):

1) Main Course: Smoked Cod with potatoes, carrots and portuguese kale

2) Desserts: Farófias (a sweet made with egg whites... so soooooo good! This year I'm going to make some); or Rabanadas ( a kind of a french toast) or Filhoses (fried cakes) or even, my personal favourites Sonhos de Abóbora (translation - pumpkin's dreams - they are a kind of small fried cakes made with pumpkin puree, with a lot of sugar and cinnamon on top)

3) A must have at all tables at Christmas: Bolo Rei or Bolo Rainha (the first is a kind of Fruit Cake, the second a Cake with Dry Nuts - sesame seeds, walnuts and dried grapes - This year I bought the first and bake th second).

Tried this out tonight and used my mom out as a taste tester (since I don't eat meat), but according to her it turned out muy perfecto! So glad that I stumbled onto your site, I don't regret it one bit. I'm definitely gonna try out some more of your recipes.
