My Everyday Life: Week 42

Here’s what this past week looked like:

I taught two Food Styling classes this weekend with my Maj. I absolutely love working with her.

Michael of Homefries helped teach our students about photography. He rocked as per usual.

We taught our class at the Teahouse Studio in Berkeley. I’ll tell you more about that soon, but here are our props!

Things got messy.

And delicious.

And I might have poked my finger in this bun.

This week we had weather. The clouds were gorgeous. Candlelight dinner!

Random flowers on top of my car.

Sunflowers really brighten up a room. LOVE.

Pho sure!

Sun speckled light. During this day at work, a car hit a bicyclist right outside our window. It was scary.

Too much to wrap my brain around.

Somebody wanted honey nut cheerios instead of regular cheerios. Pout Pout.

This cake COMING SOON!

Happy Hour. Gin, lime, pomegranate soda.

Taquito aftermath….

Speaking of Taquitos. Look what happened when I dipped one. A face!

Some crazy good Mac & Cheese that I can’t wait to tell you about.

Cooper’s new place mat.

He looks so grown up in this photo. Maybe because he’s “reading?”

Dinner date with Cooper. We had Indian food. He loved saying Chicken Tikka Masala.

As you can see…he didn’t really try much :/

The golden hour on our deck.

A salad & fries. That’s balance, right?

Self timer at breakfast. Sleepy eyes.

Pumpkin patching!!

Cooper, Henry & Annie. Cooper might have to pee…

Let’s turn this frown upside down. Mmmkay?

I love this girl. She is totally my spirit animal.

The three musketeers.

Our pumpkins!!

What a busy week!! And I literally laughed out loud at your adorable “spirit animal”. My sister has one of those in my oldest daughter 😉 So cute!

  • Ellie Delancey

Love this! Where do you get your pomegranate soda? I must re-create this beverage!

  • Anna Robbins

Tracy, It was such a pleasure to meet you today. You have really inspired me to work harder with my photos and I truly appreciate the time you spent with us in class.

    • Tracy

Thank you SOOOO much for coming, Anna!!! I really enjoyed meeting you! I LOOOOOOVED your nail polish too 😉

  • Emily S

That mac & cheese looks suspiciously like Homeroom in Oakland! Yum!

  • nicole @ deliajude

Great to meet you today. Thanks for the inspiration…

  • Ellen

Salad and fries totally counts as balanced.
Says me who just had wine and fries for dinner.

  • Carla

First, I think I might just move across the Atlantic just so I can go to pumpkin patches. I have seen so many pictures I am really really suffering from pumpkin envy.
Second, sunflowers = love, any fresh flower, really.

  • Bev @ Bev Cooks

There are so many things about this post that I love. “Pho sure.” That’s so my soul right there.

The weather, the candles, the sleepy eyes, pumpkins, messes, all of it.

  • Abby@ Totes Delish

I’m so jealous of the people who got to come to your food styling class, why isn’t CA closer to WI?! Pho sure!

  • Becky

I had salad & fries for lunch on Friday. It’s pretty much my fave lunch combination ever. 🙂

  • jenny

such a yummy week! I just made quinoa “mac” & cheese last night because I had a huge craving but wanted to be a little bit good. it actually scratched the itch…though I will be trying your recipe as soon as you post it. 🙂

  • Megan

Looks like such a good week! I’m officially hungry for mac and cheese, french fries, and taquitos now.

  • Amy

Tracy, I seriously had the best time with you at the workshop! I learned so much and felt sooooo inspired (and already went prop shopping and am subtly pointing my boyfriend in the direction of a new camera for Christmas)to mix it up on my blog and to be more creative in general. Thank you so much for all your work and time putting together such a wonderful day! Also, I can’t stop thinking about that dang milkshake.

I am dead serious about hanging out again soon. Real friends! You are the best.

  • Alex Ambrose

Great meeting you at the workshop this weekend. So much fun to meet other photographers, enjoy some awesome food, bounce some new ideas around and grow creatively collectively. Happy baking and shooting! Alex

    Oh, that was heavenly. THANKS!

How can people look at pumpkins, fields of pumpkins, with little red wagons and cute little kids, and not feel fabulous?!? Your spirit animal is AWESOME. “Look at mah bellaaay!!”

I cannot WAIT to hear about your class!! Oh, and re: photography, any NEW ASSIGNMENTS via the podcast re: photography would be SUPER awesome. Esp. if we have to take photos certain ways, or DO certain things (post-production) w/ our photographs to work on our SKILLZ.

You are the queen of SUPER cool shadow & reflection shots. And clouds. Wonderful stuff. xo

  • Katie @ Blonde Ambition

I absolutely love the photo of the sunflower against the mostly black & white background. Beautiful.

Your boy seems like a fun kid. I love that he at least tried Indian food! My 22 year old “baby” brother still won’t even taste curry. And the pics from the pumpkin patch are too cute!

  • Whitney

I love the My Everyday Life posts so much that you have inspired me to start my own!

I have my fingers crossed that you’re going to recreate that mac and cheese and post the recipe. It looks so. dingdang. good.

  • Diane

    Pomegranate soda!

  • Annie

omg that little girl and her belly! ha! love it.

  • Sarah | The Cyclist's Wife

Hi Tracy! I wrote to Teahouse but didn’t hear back. Do people really take the course without a DSLR? It says digital, DSLR or camera phone on the description, but I was curious. Thanks!

    • Tracy

hey! i’m sorry they didn’t respond to you! we had a whole range of cameras at our class. Most everyone had a DSLR in addition to a camera phone.

  • Julie

I absolutely hope you poked a finger into that bun! Mostly because I’m glad I am not the only one who has thoughts to do such things. Ooorrrrrr the tendency to be a creep and follow through with said urges.

  • Nicole @ The Dirty Oven

Late to the party on this post. But I have to say you made my day with the kid pics at the pumpkin patch.
The Cooper pee dance reminds me of someone I know. Lets plan a play date soon. I know someone who enjoys trucks, long walks to the beach and playdough.
