Tracy! I always had a birthday party at school. My mom would bring cupcakes.I had a guy friend whose birthday was the day before mine, so his mom and my mom would get together and coordinate class party ideas. They were also probably secretly coordinating our future marriage. That totally never happened 🙂

  • cindy

Megan’s brunch is a highlight of the year, for real!

I never experienced #20, either, but my brother ALWAYS did and my mom would make something awesome for his class. Way uncool.

  • Maria Tadic

Thanks for sharing as always – I love your Friday links! Such funny and good finds!

My birthday is Dec. 22. Once, in grade 7, it fell on the Friday before Chrsitmas break. Best day ever, although by grade 7, I couldn’t bring cupcakes. Everyone sang for me and it was awesome. I still remember it, 22 years later (*gasp*). I did the same thing to my daughter with her Jan. 4 birthday.

Thanks, once again, for your Friday list. I enjoy it every week.

  • Megan

Yay! Thanks for the brunch love.

    • Megan

Ah! It only published half my comment.

BUT! My birthday’s by christmas so I’d have to celebrate before break and once year my mom put together little stockings with a candy cane AND a cookie for everyone. I felt totally cool.

  • Amy

I wanna know how that bread turns out! I have it on my “to make” list. Also, I want to make tea towels! So fun! Great list. Happy Friday!

“The aesthetic of AstrologyZone is — there’s no other way to put it—catastrophically ugly.”

This quote from the Susan Miller article made me LOL. LOL, Tracy!

    Have a great weekend! Besos!

My birthday is August 18 (birthday twins!) and I always hated having a summer birthday just for that reason. BOO! 🙂

  • tara

Aww sad! Sometimes mine fell on a holiday (MLK day) but mostly it got celebrated in school.

That whipped feta made me drool. Yum. Making that immediately.

  • Megan

My bday is in August -so I’m in the same boat as you! Great list! Thanks so much for sharing. I always learn about some great sites through you!

  • tiffany han

Have you ever had frozen shaved feta. OMG. It is amazing.

  • Krissa

Just signed up for the Pairings Box and am so excited! I’m calling it a gift for my husband’s birthday…but I think it’s kind of more a gift for myself!

  • Leslie

Tracy–I SO look forward to your Friday lists! I save them for Saturdays (while I’m at work) to make the time pass more pleasantly! We poor, sad summer birthday people never got to celebrate at school! I feel your pain…

  • Erin

Thanks for posting the whipped feta link! I am roasting tomatoes in my oven & hard boiling eggs to add to my whipped feta sandwich. Thanks!!

  • Kankana

Totally love feta cheese and next time going to whip it for sure!

  • Laura

I love your lists, and Megan at takeamegabite is my little sister- her Valentine’s brunch is amazing!

Thanks for sharing interesting tid bits that I might not have found otherwise!!

  • Jayne

That list on the 20 cool things for elementary school students… I’m not even from the US but I totally get it! haha… On the rare occasion I get picked to hand in my teacher’s register in the morning. I walk really really slow to the office just to soak in the experience and gloat as I passed by various classrooms so other kids could see me being the free-spirited kid that’s out at the corridor while they were stuck in the classroom. That brought back memories.

  • Rachel

I have had a subscription to the Turntable Kitchen Box since September and it’s awesome! I can’t wait to see what’s in yours!!!
