My Everyday Life: Week 3

Here’s what this past week looked like:

Waffles on a weekday. My kid is the luckiest.

Lock love.

Chinatown.

Trying to drink more water.

Mew waiting at the door.

Eggs on a sunny winter Saturday morning.

This made me laugh.

The set up for Vanilla Walnut Shortbread Cookies.

Sorting through crayons from my childhood.

Obligatory sunset shot.

The importance of plating store bought food.

Reupholstering chairs.

Breakfast tacos & an Americano. Oh and this is one of the 4 chairs I covered.

Afternoon sun.

So cold that my shadow is blue.

Black & White is all the rage. I’m already covered for this trend!

Making my Killer Garlic Bread.

A rogue Tom on the street.

Meal planning with a bed jumper.

Lining them all up to knock them all down. Repeat times 50.

I’m fascinated by the markings.

Poor sick kid.

Crappiest lunch I’ve had in a long time.

Trifecta of YUM.

Fascinated by layers of what was once fresh.

love your viewpoint! thanks for sharing your world with us

  • Amanda Barkey

So I’m looking at your post with my 3 year old and he definitely thought that those waffles were chocolate waffles and he really loved seeing cars in coopers bathtub…. He’s obsessed with both pics, I think we have looked at your week about five times over now 🙂

  • Anna

LOVE the scarves! Where are they from?

  • Kim@hungryhealthygirl

Great pics! We are good moms…my kids get waffles on weekdays too!

  • Victoria

I think you’ve even got me looking for details that are actually beautiful! It’s actually kind of fun…:)

Sorry about the sick kiddo and the crappy lunch. Not sorry about the sun, the water, the memories, accomplishments!

    Happy Saturday 🙂

  • Becky

I love the reupholstered chairs! I’m thinking about doing something similar – do you have any tips?

  • dana828

I’ve been eyeing those scarves at Target the past few times I’ve been in. I think it’s time to break down and buy 1 or 3. 🙂
Curious as to where your “crappiest lunch” was…so we can make sure to avoid the place when we come to SF this spring!

As my late mother always said about good food that either she prepared or me or my sis, ” YUUUM!” Your food pix look terrific as always. My mom bought us for our 1 year anniversary (27 years ago) a waffle maker. I too used to make my kids waffles during the week also. YUUUM!!!!!

  • Laura

I love your photos. They are amazing and show the everyday life in a totally new and beautiful point of view

  • Emily @ Hungry Delights

Love all the photos – your meal planning process is exactly the same as mine! xo Emily

Is it wrong I got really excited by the crayon picture? I may be too old for it but I still love making people cards with crayons.
The egg shot was awesome, they looked otherworldly with the lighting…

  • Jenny

I just got reminded by your photo that I have tomato soup in the cabinet. I think that’ll be lunch later. Grilled cheese with tomato soup and maybe even a salad!

  • Julie Loblaw (Damn, not even close)

I love the charred breakfast taco tortillas. Makes all the difference for store-bought tortillas! : )

  • Jayne

I’m loving your pics this week. Trifecta of yums indeed. Avocado makes everything yum. I also have a thing with markings and layered paint. They can keep my mind busy with wonderings of when they were added on, who used them etc. You know, stuff..

  • Sera

super photos this week! loving all the patterns and textures 🙂 i hope cooper is feeling better now, and that you haven’t caught it!

I’m missing that Tom! except i’m in Arkansas :/ so i’m guessing its not mine

  • Katie

I definitely recommend taking your little one to Boom Town at the Conservatory of Flowers. When I was there a few weeks ago, there were a bunch of kids his age who seemed to really enjoy it (of course, the San Francisco train set that’s there might have been the biggest draw).

  • Annie

i like your fancy water bottle!

  • Jenna

Capo’s was that bad huh? Care to give a mini review?
I have 3 kids here in SF and never get to go out to eat so I cherish any review of a new place to help weed out the bad ones 🙂

We went there for lunch- here’s a few things. Took FOREVER to get seated. They had about 6 tables open but the waitstaff couldn’t handle the customers they already had so we had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated. Half of the time we were waiting outside.

The appetizers were SO salty and really disappointing. We asked for no anchovies on one of the plates because my dad can’t handle the salt and they added them. The pacing of the meal was pretty off. Took FOREVER for us to finally get our entree. I spoke up and complained and they comped us a few of our items. So that’s cool.

i can’t say anything about the pizza, though. If it’s really good, then maybe lunch there might be worth it.

  • Kelly

Thank you for sharing your photos.. I love the shot of the setup for the cookies 🙂

  • Kathy H.

Love your pics! What kind of camera do you use? Would love to know!

  • Sincerely Jill

This may be a silly question, but do you just keep your DSLR with you where ever you go? Or are some of these iPhone photos? I’m planning on start the 365 days of photography, but I tend not to keep my camera with me. Any advice?

    • Tracy

Last year I had my DSLR with me at all times, and now I do half Iphone and half DSLR. I found that I was getting back problems from such a heavy purse. The iphone does just fine in a pinch!

  • Colleen Sabados

Could you post your waffle recipe? They look yummy. Did I just miss it?

  • Erin

I love your eye, Tracy. What you see & then capture by photograph is improving my vision — and reminds me that I must slooooow down to see this detail. Thank you!!!

  • Iris

Oh man. Lucky kid indeed! Now I’m not going to stop thinking about waffles till I get some.

  • Mandy

Making those shortbread cookies for a baby shower in Malibu this Saturday!

  • Theresa

Your kid is truly the luckiest! Lovely photos, Tracy!
