Here’s what this past week looked like:

I wish my coffee could refill itself.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Flowers for my dinner party. I love seeing the sun shine through mason jars.

Mushroom bruschetta, cheese, pickled carrots & wine! Appetizers outside.

My brother came to visit with his girlfriend so that’s the reason we celebrated!

I made my Tomato Watermelon Salad, my Tuscan Kale & Pecorino Salad with corn & grilled chicken.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

The next morning I made us Breakfast Tacos! This batch of tacos had soyrizo in them.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

And of course…we have the aftermath of all of that.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Rise & SHINE!

My Everyday Life: Week 36

An amazing hike with amazing clouds.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

And a beautiful end to that day.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

This kid has amazing bed head. I also love his nose.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

I made you foccacia. Stay tuned for that recipe.

Dinner party leftovers.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

JUICE CLEANSE! I posted this picture below on Instagram and people asked me a bunch of questions.

I did a 3 day juice cleanse with Urban Remedy. It was cool, but I’m so used to doing BluePrint Cleanse that I was expecting some of the juices to taste better. Two of the drinks each day contained Stevia as a sweetener and I found it kinda hard to stomach. Stevia leaves a lingering taste in my mouth that I don’t like, so I actually made my own cashew milk for days 2 & 3.

The cleanse was pretty good! I’m actually surprised how fast it went. This is probably the 4th juice cleanse I’ve done and I’ve found that the transition into Fall is the best time for my body since it’s on the warmer side here. Juicing can make you really COLD.

I decided to juice because I wanted to give my body a RESET. I’ve been eating in excess lately (HELLO DEEP DISH PIZZA) and actually have been kind of bored with my routine & habits so I bought this cleanse as a way to shake things up. When you can’t eat, it becomes a very emotional experience and you find yourself contemplating things and reevaluating your life and your food habits. It’s very cathartic and helps me remember how much I use food as therapy. It can help you remember how good food tastes!

I also bought this cleanse because I wanted to check out a local company and I know that buying a cleanse instead of spending time juicing all day and night would help keep me motivated. I’m always super motivated when my money is on the line. Anyways, I feel great and refreshed and I’m craving fruits & vegetables like WHOA.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

My three favorite necklaces. I just got the middle one in my latest Stitchfix box. I LOVE IT.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

I made Cooper & Casey some basmati rice and heated up Trader Joe’s Chana Masala to put over it. Then I topped it off with yellow peppers and cilantro! Lucky boys. Mama should get brownie points for making dinner while cleansing.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Cooper and I took the ferry this week! Here’s my picture.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Here’s Cooper’s picture.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

And then I flipped the camera around and here are our faces.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

High Voltage. I never noticed those signs before.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

A new plant. I had one of these in college and I’m excited to have another one!  I think it’s a spider plant?

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Gobble Gobble.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Sometimes I feel like I know what he’s gonna look like as an adult.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

And sometimes I remember that he’s still my silly baby boy.

My Everyday Life: Week 36

Have a great weekend! xo

I’m loving this week more than usual! Where you hike looks inspiring, the profile picture of Copper reminds me of the one you did a while back, is crazy how much he’s grown! Love the ferry pic, very happy momma and son, turkey legs crack me up, and yes that’s a spider plant. 🙂 BTW, you should wear shorts, your gorgeous show off those gams!

  • Sini

Your turkeys are awesome. It’s Thanksgiving soon….

    • Tracy

Everyone keeps asking me if we’re gonna have one of those at our table….

      • Sini

😀 No one would really notice if there was one turkey less walking down the streets. Besides. The turkey would have had a happy, wild & free life and it would be an honour to be part of your family’s Thanksgiving table. Just sayin’ 😉

  • Millie

Yay! Finally a focaccia recipe – you KNOW I’m excited! 🙂 CARBS 4 LYF <3 haha
    Great pictures again Tracy!

  • lynn @ the actor's diet

I wish there was a Somersault cleanse

  • Bea @ Bea's Bites

Beautiful week, as always. I love your and Cooper’s smiles. I feel that I could do a juice cleanse but I can’t afford that on a student’s budget right now so I will have to do salads instead and restart my body that way. But I am very familiar with the spider plant! Mine spawned so many baby spider plants I had no idea what to do with them all.

    • Tracy

They make refillable water for cats…I mean…why can’t they make that for coffee??!

  • Todd @ HonestlyYUM

Tracy, all I want in life is my coffee to refill itself. Cheers to another great week and more BLATs for us all!!

  • Mallory @ Because I Like Chocolate

The juice cleanses sound neat but I agree, artificial sweeteners taste repulsive. When you are used to consuming normal sugar you can tell such a huge difference.

  • Emily D.

I think BLAT might be my favorite kind of sandwich, possibly because it’s just fun to say. Also, it is the perfect late breakfast sandwich post-drinking.

  • Grace

That b&w photo of you and your son is absolutely gorgeous and deserves to be framed!

  • Pam

You and Cooper look SO alike in the picture of you guys on the ferry its crazy! Love all of your pictures as always. Looks like you did an awesome job hosting your guests – I would love to wake up to breakfast tacos.

  • Emily @ Life on Food

I always finish my coffee before I am sit to eat breakfast. I need to change something in that scenario.

  • Jenna

Great lineup, it’s funny the difference between your & Cooper’s photos, they look like completely different days. I also love the photo of the bench full of dishes (real talk!)

  • Amanda @ Once Upon a Recipe

I love those flowers in the mason jars – so pretty! Also, that picture of you and Cooper is just perfection. The happiness that radiates out of the picture makes me smile!

  • Jamie Ratcliffe

You could publish a book with all your beautiful cloud photos! They remind me that sometimes I need to stop rushing around and appreciate the world around me. Thank you. That photo of you are Cooper is so great, you both look so happy and sparkly!

  • Jessica

i just did my first juice cleanse! it’s very inspiring to see that you’re choosing to do more than one (in a life time…)!!!

on a solid food note, i’m very excited for this foccacia recipe! happy sunday!

  • tea-time365.blogspot.com

Amazing view you had there, this is how life should looks like.

  • Amy

This looks like an amazing week! I can’t wait for the focaccia recipe – I will have to make it for my Mum, she loves it!
I sometimes think about going on a juice cleanse but then I remember that I don’t like juice. However, I have been thinking about having a green smoothie for breakfast because I am running out of time to have breakfast in the morning and get to work on time. Any recipes you’d recommend?

  • Judi

Have you checked out Joe the Juicer? He made a video about how he rebooted his life. It’s called Fat, Sick, and Almost Dead. SO inspiring! LOVIN’ your hair!! xoxo

  • Carolyn

I have that chunky, black beaded necklace too! Target? I wear it all the time, I just wish it wasn’t so heavy…

How do you like StitchFix? Are you going to do a write-up about it? I’m tempted to try it (I’m in a style rut), but I’m plus-sized so I think my options are limited.

    • Tracy

I’ll do a write up soon! I LOOOOOVE that necklace from Target. I get so many compliments on it too!

  • Melissa

I love that yellow Kindle case – do you mind sharing where you got it?

  • Hannah

These posts are my favourite! All your photos are so nice. And your son is adorable.

  • Felicia

I can picture him as an adult! He looks just like you.
By the way, do you ever do meetups in San Francisco?
