OUTFITTING: Navy & Gold

OUTFITTING: Navy & Gold

ONE
/ TWO /THREE /FOUR /FIVE/SIX /SEVEN /EIGHT /NINE

I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to wear to Thanksgiving. I usually end up looking like a hot mess because I’m too busy cooking or rounding the troops up to go over to my parent’s house. But this year I’d like to look less frumpy cuz maybe we’ll take some holiday pictures…I dunno. We dress somewhat casual on Thanksgiving so I put together a “holiday” outfit I’d wear in a heartbeat. I love Navy & Gold together because it’s a nice balance of warm tones with cool tones. Drapey fabrics are the way to go during big meals. You need room to grow!

The links to 8 and 9 are identical — a problem because I need to impulse-buy those flats immediately!

  • danielle

Ditto on what Amanda said. =)

  • Jenny

YES! Need those flats. I think they’ll be sold out in every size as soon as you edit the link. 🙂

Tracy, maybe you mentioned this elsewhere, but are you getting compensated by Modcloth for doing these Outfitting posts or if people click through and buy these items?

I ask because I feel like sponsored posts are becoming more prevalent (and I heard you and Joy talking all about it on your podcast), and I’m really interested to see how bloggers handle the disclosure and the relationships. You are my favorite blogger and so I’m especially eager to know what your policies are around all of this…

Thanks! And love the outfit :).

I am using affiliate links for these posts so if someone buys one of the items I get a small percentage of the sale. I am doing it as a way to fund my hosting fees of this website. This is not a post sponsored by Mod Cloth.

Wearing navy and gold today! I think you have a great sense of style, so now I feel extra stylish today 🙂 Thanks!

I really like all of this and I usually don’t do metallic handbags.
Also I just read that San Fransisco is turning into Gotham city for a little boy’s Make-a-Wish dream on November 15. Holy exciting!

    • Tracy

I like how metallic bags get worn down. It makes them look aged. I NEED TO CHECK OUT THIS GOTHAM CITY THING. Cooper is gonna freak.

  • Shauna

This seriously speaks to me. Love this combo.

  • Marisa @ Uproot from Oregon

I don’t think I could do those skinny jeans for my Thanksgiving meal… bring on the jeggings, the only time of year that it is appropriate to wear booty clinging fabric.

  • Claire @ Lemon Jelly Cake

Considering the fact that I’ve had a Modcloth gift card waiting for me to use it since Christmas . . . one of these posts is definitely going to motivate me into placing an order, haha. One of the tunics would be the most sensible choice for my soon-to-be postpartum body. 🙂

Also, I can’t believe I never thought of pairing navy with gold. D’uh!

  • Amanda @ Once Upon a Recipe

I love this color palette. I’m pretty sure I need that sweater and that scarf!

  • Hannah

Love it! This is totally the vibe I am going with for our family portraits this weekend, but I am switching the gold out for a pop burnt orange. Love your picks this time around, casual, traditional, and fun!

  • Heidi - Apples Under My Bed

You need room to grow. So excellently put. I love #1 & 6 in particular here. This year I’m going to my American friend’s thanksgiving (friends giving!) – can you believe it? A first for me. I’m so excited. So not relevant to me in Australia but think of the pie & turkey & stuffing!!

Navy and gold together always feels so lush. Love this outfit combination! Especially the draped cardigan, perfect for curling into on the couch for a post-feasting nap 🙂

  • Gabby (Quest for Delicious)

Love the clutch and glitter earrings. My high school colors were navy and gold, so I can’t wear this combo without slightly feeling like I’m heading to a pep rally. 😉
