My Everyday Life: Week 15

Here’s what this past week looked like

I finally went to the Alameda Flea Market.  I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to go.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

I met up with Todd from Honestly Yum to prop shop & go on a tasting at St. George Spirits.

It was a fun day. I often forget how many cool things there are to do in the Bay Area.

So many fun treasures!

My Everyday Life: Week 15

We don’t always eat the same thing…but I like to at least have our food be in the same genre.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

He wanted to give me his George to travel with so I would think of him.

Sweetest thing ever as he LOVES/sleeps with George.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

I wrote Cooper little notes every day that I was gone. It was a hit. He kept referring to the days as “Day 1” “Day 2” and so on…

My Everyday Life: Week 15

My luggage is always bold.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

My phone gives me nice reminders. I’m currently suffering from sciatica and OH MAN it’s a beast.

I’m really trying hard to be positive about it but it’s so hard for me to not be able to physically do all the things that I want/need to do. It’s a lesson in being present and listening to my body. I really hope it gets better.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

Eggs, toast, mushrooms with spinach and pesto and leftover Crispy Smashed Potatoes,   If you heat up the leftover potatoes in a skillet with some oil they are PERFECTION as home fries.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

A trip to the Discovery Museum in Sausalito today. Finally getting a chance to wear my Salt Water Sandals.

My Everyday Life: Week 15

Hope you had a great weekend. We sure did! xo

Man, that quote is SPOT ON. So true. In times when we can’t do much physically it’s so so easy to let your mind get unhealthy. I hope you feel better soon, lovely. You & Cooper are just so sweet. & that b bathroom, that light – amazing. Have a great week! x

  • Victoria

What a week! I love the shots you took on your trip to Oregon.

My week ended with a whirlwind trip to help a friend prepare a bunch of food for some upcoming guests at the retreat center she runs with her husband and another couple. We got everything done and I’m feeling ready for another week. 🙂

  • jessica

Hey Tracy! So sorry you are in pain!! Have you heard of Jin Shin Jyustsu? I use this website (not mine) http://www.flowsforlife.com/jin-shin-jyutsu/sciatic-pain/ for self help. It could also be great to go to a JSJ practitioner. Hope it helps!!
Your quote is so true! And it’s a big part of the concept of Jin Shin Jyutsu!

  • Helen

Amazing photos! In particular the “Reflections upside down”…It is so beautiful! Well done!

  • Kathy H.

Love those sandals! What is the color you have and do they run true to size?? Can’t wait to hear about your trip to Harry & David!

  • Hilary

That photo of you and Cooper is precious!

  • Kate Shu

    The snuggle picture got me.

  • Lisa

My husband suffered with sciatica for a long time and they were even considering surgery. I said no way I can figure out something natural for this! So I bought him an Inversion Table. He is totally 100 % good today! You HAVE to check it out. There is a ton of info out there on it. It truly does work!!

    • Tracy

Thanks for the tip!!! Cooper is going to be sooo stoked when that thing arrives 🙂

  • jenny

oh man. the snuggle picture made me cry. love all the colors in your photos this week, tracy.

  • Katelyn

Oh, that little dog’s face! Love seeing you and Cooper’s relationship! It’s so sweet. Hope you find relief for your pain soon!

  • Rachel

An affirmation that my high school biology teach had us recite every day:

I am healthy, well, and full of energy.
    Calm, cool, collected, and easygoing.
    Competent, capable, and highly motivated.
    Strong, secure, happy, and optimistic.
    Intelligent, independent, and free.

  • Sarah @ The Cyclist's Wife

Did you happen to peep any of the furniture at the antique fair?

  • Jamie

I’m going to be a broken record here and say the pic of you and Coop snuggling lifted my heart and made me think of my own little guy. So beautiful. You should add that one to your happy wall in your bedroom. xoxo

  • Jessica

Really beautiful post this week, thank you so much for sharing!

  • Bonnie

Sorry to hear about your pain!! I have suffered off and on for years with back pain. Just know that it will pass. Have patience and be gentle to yourself. Thanks for introducing Todd. His website looks awesome! Subscribed to his newsletter today.

    Hi Tracy,
    I really enjoy your site.
I had Sciatica that was really bad.
    Found a great Acupuncturist who
healed me. She also helped 2 other people
I know who had it as well.
She is located in Noe Valley.
    Anju-415-206-1380
    Good Luck.

  • Amy

You poor thing. My little sister gets sciatica and has to be super careful about stretching all the time, especially when she is going to the gym/walking a lot.
Your trip to Oregon looks amazing though, and I can’t wait to hear more about the pear trees. Love the little fish on the pavement outside the aquarium 🙂
    Feel better soon.

  • Amanda

Looks like you had a great week! The reflections photo is super trippy!

  • Katie

The photo of you and your boy…I freaking love it! Also looking at this before I have had dinner is making me super hungry!!

  • Emily @ Life on Food

Is it just me or was this a big week? Love the all, especially the wood pile.

  • Katie @ The Surly Housewife

What an awesome week! The notes to your son is sooo sweet 🙂 And you got to meet Haggis!! I hope you get some relief from the pain. That has to be rough. Thank you for sharing your week with us!!

  • Jen

WOW! Do you take most of your photos with your phone or with a real camera? I’m mesmerized. Your sense of light amazes me! Kudos!

Love the podcast too! Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Tracy

It’s half & half although lately it’s more phone than camera as my camera is quite heavy. THANK YOU!

  • Leah

The photos of you and Cooper are filling my heart with so much love. I am 8 months pregnant and we’re having a boy. Seeing your photos makes me so excited to have that kind of relationship with my son. 🙂

  • Todd

I had so much fun! It’s not every day you get a new decanter AND something delicious to fill it with!! Thanks for the amazing day, Tracy 🙂

  • Jen

Tracy, I feel for you with the sciatica! I had maddening bilateral sciatica last year and had to keep moving around all the time. I could not stay still to fall asleep. A 104° hot tub or middle of the night yoga allowed me to be still enough to get in a quick nap. What I am convinced made it go away (because this happened/it worked twice) is Boiron’s Hypericum Perforatum, which is St. John’s Wort. Homeopathic, so probably can’t hurt to try it. I picked mine up at a Whole Foods, but here’s a link for reference. https://www.boironusa.com/products/hypericum-perforatum/
    Good luck!

  • Sandy @ Reluctant Entertainer

I love this post. My outside bathroom – yikes! ha ha.

    Who’s cuter, Haggis or Cooper?

    Miss you, lady! xo
