“It’s like the sky found its crimping iron.” Or put its hair in braids overnight. 😛

  • Debbie

It looks like you killed a mosquito eater (or is that a super closeup of a mosquito so it looks huge)? Anyway, if it’s a mosquito eater, you don’t want to kill those – they are the good guys 🙂

    • Tracy

That’s how I found it 🙁 I know better than to kill them cuz I haaaaaaate mosquitoes!

  • Millie l Add A Little

Cooper looks so adorable! Hope you’ve had a nice weekend Tracy 🙂

There’s a lot of recipes I am waiting for this week. I am now in the mood for pizza. And I have come to the conclusion that garlic bread could possibly be one of the best foods.

  • Mira C

    That grilled pizza! Wowzers.

I had that placemat as a kid! Except it was during the Cold War, so there was still the USSR, Western Sahara, and many other countries that don’t exist anymore. I didn’t realize that Yugoslavia was no longer a country until high-school history :/

Beautiful photos as always, Tracy! Thanks for sharing!

  • Katie | The Surly Housewife

I always look forward to this post and this week doesn’t disappoint! Pizza and garlic bread. Yummo!! And I totally relate with the shorts. Sigh. Hate ’em. Hope you had a great weekend!

  • Jennifer

This is a gorgeous series. I love the father’s day note!

Lovely shots, as ever. We (inland CA) actually had a fully cloudy day. Pretty much a miracle for summertime, here–quite delightful.

Your pizza photo is SCANDALOUSLY fabulous looking–wow. And Cooper, wow. Looks like a poet. Congrats on wearing shorts! =) I’m still not, but I’m proud of you.

So, as an official biologist (not entomologist but v. much a bug enthusiast), I am legally required to let you know that the “mosquito eater” (what we called them when I was a kid) is actually a crane fly, and per wiki “Many adults, however, have such short life spans that they do not eat at all.” So, while the adults don’t bite people (or much of anything), they don’t eat mosquitoes either. As adults, they’re pretty much all about romance, so I’m all for ’em. =)
