My Everyday Life: Week 26

Here’s what this past week looked like:

Surprise Cookies & Cream Milkshakes on a week night.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I went to Bikram yoga for the first time since September. Teacher was a no show.

The substitute was really good.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Warm blackberries.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Good cloud day.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Forever and ever.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I wore Casey’s shorts. I’m testing the waters with shorts…I just wanted to have a better option when I ride my bike.

Of course when I went to pick Cooper up from school instead of saying “HI MOM!!” like he normally does he immediately yelled (in front of the whole school) MOM WHY ARE YOU WEARING DADDY’S SHORTS??!!

Yeah, thanks.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

San Francisco.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

The trees in the water and a pool floatie that reminds me of a doughnut.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Went to yoga again. On the way there, it felt like I was driving through my own version of the video game Paperboy. It was almost like the universe was saying DO NOT GO. There were cars blocking me… people jutting out in the street at my car, and I then couldn’t find a parking space… I went and the teacher was no bueno. His energy was really bad and he totally tried to shame a girl for TAKING A SIP OF WATER. I left early and felt pretty good about it.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Drip drip drip.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

GROATS are not GROSS.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

So….this stuff tastes like Harmless Harvest. I’m not mad at it.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

We all like different things.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Tripping out.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Back & Forth Forever IRL

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I made this boy smile at a stop light.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I don’t know. It seemed to make sense at the time.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Casey did good.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Our chins are pointy.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I haven’t been to a Red Sox game where they won in YEARS.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

The best part? Finding out that Cooper, who doesn’t like peanut butter, LOVES peanuts.

He and I were obsessed with watching the food vendors during the game.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Bike rides with friends.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Followed by In & Out Burger.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

WITH HATS. What a good day it was! All cherry. No pit!

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I burned an omelette. It was still good.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

First in line.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Uhh Yeah Dude. Episode #424. I really hope you can hear my laugh in the background.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Instead of stress eating, I stress cooked.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Photo adventure with Leslie.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Sink or Swim.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Drinks at Trick Dog. Their menu is now signs of the Zodiac.

Pisces for me. Aries for Leslie.

I’m a Leo and she’s a Scorpio. We didn’t like the drinks of our own signs.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Puppy eyes.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Converse buddies.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Leslie, the fire-starter.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

It was one of those good for the soul nights. We visited Hula & her family while Jen & Bob were away.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

This is what Summer in San Francisco looks like:

My Everyday Life: Week 26

You can use sharpies for your wine glasses BTW. It just scrubs right off.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I always think of Joy & Sean Connery when I see Alcatraz.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

We always have at least two bottles open when we’re at my parent’s house.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Whenever I post pictures of my mom’s dinner table, there are always a few people that comment to say their mom has the same plates. That makes me happy.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

I need this sign.

My Everyday Life: Week 26

Enjoy your weekend! xoxox

  • Anne

Hah! My mom also has those plates, must be a mom thing 🙂

  • Juliet

I have those plates and bowls!! Haha my mom gave them to me. I think they are Pier 1.

  • Jordan

TRACY! I was literally checking out the new merch on UYD’s site and almost bought that sweet sweet tank, then made my way into your everyday life and BAM! you’re wearing it. it’s a sign – Thanks!

  • Ellen

    That milkshake shot. Soooooo cool.

  • Medha @ Whisk & Shout

Love these snapshots into your awesome life! Love that milkshake shot… is that a patterned counter? Because I”m obsessed.

  • Ellie

I love burned omelets. That’s the only way I eat them! 🙂

  • Cat

I really appreciate how you can find interesting ways to take photos of daily life – I’m definitely using you as inspiration as I work to photograph more! Also, I gotta try out Trick Dog. I’ve heard of it, but as an East Bay person, I don’t make it out to SF bars as much.

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Tracy

It’s pretty good. I like how they take pride in their drinks. The astrology thing is a nice touch too! YOU MUST GET THE FRIES if you go. They are TRIPLE fried.

  • Emily @ Life on Food

I look forward to these posts every week. I totally want me some In and Out burger. Whenever you take a shot of the three dinner plates I cannot help but think about the Three Bears story.

  • Talia

Ha! My mom has those plates as we’ll! 🙂 you inspire me to take more pictures, mine just aren’t nearly as pretty as yours!!

  • Jen

I love your cotton candy airplane.

    • Tracy

You know….I was trying to make a cloud and DID NOT SEE AN AIRPLANE. So thank you. That’s pretty awesome.

  • fusilliamy

Alcatraz is foreverandever THE ROCK in Sean Connery voice! I feel your shorts pain and uncertainty. My thighs only allow bermuda shorts. I can’t wait to listen to that UYD show and for your laugh.

    • Tracy

hahahaaaa. we’re in this shorts game forever. You’re gonna love that show. IT WAS SO DANG FUNNY.

  • Millie l Add A Little

yes!! I love groats!!! And also, you’re food prep is swoon worthy!
    http://youtube.com/addalittlefood

  • les

me drink aries make fire (grunt).
    also, ilyxoxoxoxox

  • Leah

Seatbelts!! You and Joy got me into Uhh Yeah Dude, thank you!

Also, I took a yoga class a few times where the teacher always singled out this one woman who was very stiff and couldn’t get into poses easily and would giggle while she pointed this out to the whole class. It totally brought down the vibe. It also made me angry because she started her classes by saying how yoga is not a competition and not to judge… then she does that, I didn’t go back.

  • Abby

Tracy, I’m sad that your second yoga class was bad, but GET IT GURL for going twice in one week! You’re the best.

    • Tracy

I just know now not to go to that dude. It’s a learning process. I’m sure his energy works for some, but not this lady!! 😀

  • annette

Tracy, just want to say I recently found you and that I love your posts. You make me smile about all the simple things in life; good, bad & ugly. I especially love your Friday lists. Thank you!

  • Kristen

This may be my favorite of your everyday life posts, yet! What a full and happy week you had!

  • Samantha Biobabbler

Oh, man, I ALWAYS LOVE your photo-weeks, but for some reason I love this one extra.

A yoga instructor who shames people has not, imho, absorbed the teachings sufficiently. Let people make informed choices, then LEAVE them alone. Proud of you going 2x/week! And that you’re still rockin’ shorts. You’re in serious danger of becoming an athlete, chica. =)

When you guys are all foggy & cold it’s ’cause we are BOILING HOT (100s for next several days) & pulling in your marine layer to fill in the space as our super hot air rises. Sorry ’bout that. Wanna trade? =)

And to be 100% honest, your mom’s plates make me happy, ’cause they’re what my grandma had, and I ALWAYS loved them. So much detail & nature-things–they’re always great and forever will make me nostalgic. Hope you have a great week! xxo

  • Samantha Biobabbler

(p.s. does it make you happy that 26 (week #) is exactly half-way through the year? =) )

  • Marie

speaking of that pool float…we just bought this one for our house and it makes me so happy! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007Q2KZU0?pc_redir=1403929744&robot_redir=1

love these posts every week. happy sunday!!

  • cristal

    love all your pics!

  • Cari

Oh! My mom has those plates too

  • Heidi - Apples Under My Bed

Like a breath of fresh air this morning, Tracy. Thanks. Too much to comment on as each picture made me feel something but just, thanks. x

  • Emma

This is the first time I’m commenting- I love your everyday life series! They give me a little lift every time. Have a good week!

  • S

I love that sign in the last photo. Any idea where I can get one so’s I can be a total copycat?

  • Hannah

My mum has those plates! And they were her mum’s before that. I hope they’ll be mine one day.

  • DessertForTwo

    Sharpie on wine glasses? Genius!

  • Amy @ Thoroughly Nourished Life

Those milk shakes look epic! My skinny jeans are kind of afraid of them, but my soul is kind of calling out for one 😉
I can’t do yoga in a studio because I always feel like the teacher and the students are watching my pathetic attempts and barely concealing their laughter. I’m a runner, my ligaments are made of steel. Solution: DVD at home 🙂 Happy you’ve found a studio that you like though and had the power to leave early when you didn’t like the instructor!

  • Adriene

Seriously? Shaming during yoga? I don’t think I would have been able to keep my mouth shut. I hope people vote with their wallets and their feet and never let him teach a class again.

  • Elizabeth

Fun Fact! You can also use a little nail polish remover to take sharpie of glass, a little swipe and it melts right off!

  • Hilary

Pretty sure I remember having those plates around our house as a kid. 🙂

  • Jodi

New reader and first time commenter here. I love these posts. You find such beauty in the simple things. It makes me stop and think 🙂

  • LoraKay

These posts always make me want to move to SF. <3

  • Bonnie Sanders

Loved your story about wearing your husbands shorts and your sons reaction, so funny! My Mom also has those same dishes. Made me smile! Thanks for your wonderful blog and beautiful pictures and delicious recipes!!

  • tara

I heard that Bikram yoga shamed people for drinking water and I was like NOPE! That sounds horrible. Glad you left.

Can I ask a (probably) stupid question? Do you bring your camera camera (as opposed to a phone camera) everywhere? Do you ever feel self conscious about it? I’ve been trying to be better about taking photos and was wondering how you felt about it…

    • Tracy

I’ve been shooting mostly with my iPhone for the past year… and when I’m at home I’ll use my dslr. I’m hunting for a good point & shoot that bridges the gap between the two. I’ll let you know when I find a good one!

I never feel self conscious about taking photos until I get comments from my family members and friends. It gets annoying when they ask what I’m taking a picture of. JUST LET ME TAKE THE PICTURE. To me, photography is a form of meditation and it’s probably why it’s been one of the most consistent things in my life. Gotta keep looking & creating. Keep shooting!

      • tara

Thank you so much for responding!! Yes, the family comments: I hate it!

I get so self conscious that I do this weird thing with my shoulders and body where I try to hide the camera or I take a photo from the hip so no one notices and I ended up missing the photo… sigh. Glad to know I’m not the only one and I’ll definitely keep shooting. Thanks again!!

  • Shikha @ Shikha la mode

I NEED THAT SIGN. It’s so perfect, much like all your photos. I think June gloom is finally over for a little bit in SF, right? It seems kind of, KIND of sunny today, and it was gorgeous during pride weekend. Who knows, though, Karl the Fog is a sneaky one. And is it weird that I now want In-n-Out?

  • thewallflorist

Absolutely love your shots and typography! You make something so simple look so yummy! Looking forward to seeing more posts

  • Heather

My Mom has the same ones too! LOL… Brought back nice memories seeing those. Just found your page today and I absolutely love it!

  • Lesley

Yesss! My mom totally has those plates too! I love them; they’re so nicely glazed. They rinse clean.. lol
