Shutterbean Summer Recipes 2014

SUMMERRECIPES

School is in session, Halloween is slowly creeping its way into Target (TOO SOON!) and apples & pears are quickly dominating my favorite grocery stores. Even though we are due for some warm weather here in the Bay Area, I can definitely see signs of Summer coming to an end. What was with that chill in the air last night??!  SAD FACE! I was looking through my Pinterest this morning…contemplating how good the eats were this Summer!

Here’s what I made in the kitchen this Summer of 2014 for Shutterbean.

When we’re deep in Winter of ’14-’15 we’ll have to look at this post when we piiiiiiiiiine for Summer. What should I make in Fall 2014??

My mind is still totally blown by all those Annie’s mac and cheese recipe ideas, but I’d also love to try the thai corn coconut soup. Gotta get on it before all the corn is gone for the season!

I didn’t really mind not having a grill until you brought up the idea of grilled pizza.
And now I have needs I didn’t even know about. So thanks. 😛

Forget Halloween! They’re already pushing Christmas in our faces in some stores!

Thank you so much for your post on enhancing mac’n’cheese. My husband and I LOVED the bacon cheeseburger recipe and this coming week we’ll be trying the pancetta and peas mac’n’cheese! 🙂

We made so many of these dishes this summer!!! I plan on making a few of these this winter when I am pining away for summer in Colorado! Looking forward to another winter of cooking with you. Thanks so much fro all of the great ideas.

  • Amanda

such a creative and delicious summer! Recapping it all in one place is brilliant, my office air conditioning doesn’t go off until October, so thai coconut soup is still a grand possibility, thanks!

    • Tracy

Oh that’s a good one for cold weather! I’m sure it can be made with frozen corn too 🙂

Wow Wee SUMMER 2014 in food looked fan-damn – TASTICK! Here’s to Fall 2014. Best season of the year!!!!!

  • Emily

Thanks for all you do, Tracy! I made the spiked blueberry lemonade cocktails and the lemon icebox cupcakes, and they were both fabulous additions to my summer. I tried to add broccoli to my mac and cheese last week, but my husband requested I keep them separate. Ah well. Happy fall to you!

Those roasted peaches look like they are to die for

  • DessertForTwo

Yay summer! I think for Fall we should make alllll the grains. Warm, starchy grains!

  • Amy @ Thoroughly Nourished Life

Yay Tracy! Thanks for a great round up to get all of us Southern Hemisphere dwellers all excited for a summer of delicious meals! I can’t wait for peaches roasted in amaretto, Thai corn soup, booze-spiked popsicles, and thick slices of ice cream cake melting in the summer sun!
Thanks for the inspiration Tracy. I can’t wait to see what the autumn months bring to you, and to cook up all your summer treats down here in Aus 🙂

I love this recap! It’s always great to remember some of the amazing things you’ve made this summer. I wish summer wouldn’t end!

  • Rebeca

Looking back, I made all of the salads and also the spring rolls and corn soup. I often forget to come back and comment (okay, almost always) but they were all amazing! Thank you for sharing all the yummy things you make with us.
P.S. – I’m so not ready for summer to be over, but the chestnuts I keep seeing everywhere remind me to enjoy what’s left.

  • Kate

I’ll be honest I’m completely ready for fall, but I loved your recipes this summer! I’m looking forward to more soup recipes, hopefully. Also, I would love any recipes on how to incorporate more veggies in the winter. Happy fall!

I am totally down for that spicy corn salad one more time.
