I made that banana ice cream into popsicles (just pour the mix into molds instead of the ice cream machine) AND IT IS AWESOME!!!! I was initially like “lemon??” but it adds a tangy brightness that is soooooo good. #muchorecommend

THOSE FOOD TATTOOS!!! the closest i’ve come to wanting a real tattoo 🙂 🙂

I like The Oatmeal so much more after having heard Matt Inman’s interview on the Slumber Party podcast. It’s such a funny one and he seems like a really cool guy.

It seems as if there’s a common trajectory to information-sharing now: the internet makes us aware of risks (this is a good thing), then the stories become contaminated by people who are confused or who tend to exaggerate or who have an agenda (like the game of ‘telephone’), and so people’s fears become amplified, then previously sensible people start freaking out and now people are afraid to let their children have useful, normal experiences like sleepovers. You can apply common sense, your good parenting skills (knowing your child, his/her maturity levels, comfort zones, his/her friend’s families, communicating well with your child, practicing behaviors…the list goes on), and an awareness that there are risks everywhere and that knowing how to navigate a world where this is true is something you can help your child learn.

True true! I think the thing that I’m concerned about most is that accessibility to things on the internet. We limit our screen time as much as possible at home, but it’s not always the case at other people’s houses. Every parent has different rules…and each kid has a different relationship to technology. You just never know!

Wait…that sleepover piece wasn’t satire?? Because that was one of the weirdest things I’ve read in a while.

      Oh well…IKEA for the win!
