Indoor S’mores

Indoor S'mores // shutterbean

I call these indoor s’mores because not all of us has a pit of fire to put marshmallows over.  I happen to have a gas range…so when we get the craving for s’mores, I take a skewer and toast a marshmallow that way. To make things less messy/more fun, I melted a handful of chocolate chips in the microwave with a heaping teaspoon of coconut oil. I dipped the toasted marshmallows in the chocolate, sprinkled chili powder on the chocolate coated marshmallows and dipped them in graham cracker crumbs. WHO NEEDS A FIRE PIT NOW??!! Indoor s’mores for times you wanna be an indoor kid.   😉

Indoor s’mores = total and complete awesomeness!

Love! And I love the photo too! Growing up during the winter months we used to make indoor s’mores but with marshmallow fluff and chocolate frosting. Sugar overload but the texture was on point.

Of for sure! I never grew up with fluff. Casey introduced it to me!

So awesome. Now, if you can somehow take this and make it into ice cream, I would really really appreciate that! Ben & Jerry’s used to make a Marsha Marsha Marshmallow flavor which was to die for (sadly, it’s in their flavor cemetery now), and I would happily go for a homemade version of it!

These look incredible! Such a smart idea.

My grandmother used to roast marshmallows with me over her gas burner but we never dipped them in chocolate! Great idea!

Um, this is just dangerous. Gas stoves really are perfect for these times, though my childhood favorite was saltines with mini marshmallows in the toaster oven.
This later became saltines with marshmallow fluff washed down with champagne when I was a poor adult who wanted to celebrate.
    Off to buy marshmallows…

I’ve been putting graham crackers slathered in nutella with mini marshmallows on top in the broiler. Would love to say it is for my 2 year old, but usually it is after he goes to bed! In my defense I am 8 and a half months pregnant. Our local ice cream place has s’mores ice cream and I am buying that by the quart as well. I can’t seem to get enough of s’mores this summer!

We have an gas range too, which is fine, but I was super psyched when we bought a new barbecue… until my husband said my smore making skills are lacking and I’ll make a mess. We’re still in negotiations, but for now I’m stuck inside too.

I totally use the microwave. Obviously NOT DOING IT RIGHT. 🙂
