Most Popular Posts of 2015

Most Popular Posts of 2015 on Shutterbean.com!

It’s that time of year when we get all introspective and think about what we’ve accomplished in the last 365 days. We think about being healthier….. while grabbing another cookie. We resolve to get our acts together to drink more water and wear more eye cream in the new year….while grabbing ANOTHER cookie. It’s also the time when we go back into my google analytics and see what were the most popular posts of the year. Here’s what I found!

Pizza Rolls

You love them. I love them. Should we make more in 2016?

Wait!

I made Broccoli Cheddar Rolls. OMG. How did I forget that???!!!!

Sambal Chicken Skewers

So easy. So seductive…and it’s just grilled chicken on a stick.

Thai Beef with Basil

This was the dish that was a serious game changer for my family.

It’s the recipe I made most over the year. We ALL love it.

Zucchini Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Who knew this would be so popular?!

I loved this cake….especially when I found a slice of it in my freezer. That was a good day.

Hash Brown Waffles

Life changing. Also, why am I not eating these everyday?

Cream of Spinach Soup

Oh yes! This one was good. I’m going to make it in January when I’m craving green food.

Apricot Glazed Chicken

Last year when I asked you what you wanted to see here, a lot of you said you liked my easy weeknight meals. I tried to put more effort into that (I noticed I didn’t bake much in 2015!). This Apricot Glazed Chicken was the Lemon Chicken of 2015!

Spicy Coconut Noodles

Casey was a huge fan of these noodles. Note to self: add these back into our rotation.

Strawberry Roll-Ups

First attempt at making fruit roll-ups was a success! I want to make a mango version next.

Sausage & Mushroom Pizza Bowls

I shared one of my favorite meals when I was in college- pizza bowls!

Don’t think of Pizza the Hutt when you’re looking at this picture.

Baked Chicken Parmesan

Weeknights were made easier with this recipe. Now if only I could get Cooper to eat melted cheese (that’s not on a pizza!).

Shortbread Strawberry Crumble

I figured out how to make a really SIMPLE/amazing crumble with pre-made shortbread cookies.

We ate this a few times this summer and looking at this picture makes me so excited for strawberry season…SIGH.

Greek Lamb Sliders

First time making lamb sliders! I need to make these again. I made them when Casey was working from home and we ate the entire batch for lunch…

The Green Machine Sandwich

Sandwich artistry! I recreated a sandwich I had at a bookstore and made it even better.

Do you guys like sandwiches? Do you want more?

Roasted Carrots with Cilantro Yogurt Sauce

One of my favorites! One of Casey’s favorites too.

Gluten Free Fudgy Brownies

I did some experimenting with gluten free baking and loved how these brownies turned out.

Looking up the ingredients now to see if I can make a batch…….

Chicken Piccata

This one was gooooooood. I want to turn it into a sandwich! Maybe I’ll do that.

Slow Cooker Pork

I showed you how I make pulled pork and how I use it!

I hope to bring more of that to 2016. More meal prep stuff.

How to Make Kombucha at Home

Biggest accomplishment in my kitchen was making my own kombucha this year. I’m still going strong! I still make a batch weekly. It’s been super rewarding.

Grapefruit Thyme Cocktail

I really loved the photos from this shoot. I definitely feel like my photography has improved. I thankfully worked myself out of a few creative ruts this year. Whew.

Cobb Salad Sandwich

Salad + carbs = deliciousness

Out to Eat: Portland, Oregon

I ate my way through Oregon with a few of my good friend from college and shared the experience. That was fun….and I barely scratched the surface of what Portland has to offer. Maybe I’ll go back in 2016? Maybe I’ll go up to Vancouver to celebrate my 10 year anniversary and write a guide?!!!

Purse Organizing System

I shared my purse organizing system with you! I’ve switched out two of my bags, and I’ve turned to a binder system since then…maybe I should share that??

If You’re Going to San Francisco Guide

I wrote about my favorite places to eat in San Francisco this year.  I FINALLY DID IT. I would like to update it in 2016 and add more stuff to my list!

There you have it! I thought it was pretty neat to see what posts were the most popular.

Thank you for all of your support! It’s so wonderful to look through the #shutterbean hashtag on Instagram and see how many of you are making the recipes you find here. It blows my mind that we can share in that together.

Thanks also for taking the time to leave a comment. I really love to hear from you. If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see in 2016, let me know in the comments.

While we’re looking back you can find the:

Thanks for reminding me about the baked chicken Parmesan-so easy and so good!! Would love to see more meal prep posts. They inspire me to use what’s in my fridge!

  • Deborah

I second the binder organization system. The bag organization system was tremendously helpful.

  • Jemma

I loved the Green Machine Sandwich! I make it every now and then for my partner and I, as a special treat. More sandwiches with yummy ingredients please! So many more of your recipes are on my “really-should-try” list, when I get less lazy in the kitchen. Keep it up, and I will keep looking forward to your Everyday Life posts. And maybe some more podcasting with Joy when you have the time. 🙂

  • Gaby Dalkin

I’m pretty sure I could live on your hash brown waffles and strawberry roll ups and never look back!

  • Jamie | The Kitchenarium

those strawberry roll ups! My kiddos will love those in their lunch boxes. These end of the year posts make me so happy. Love following along on snapchat too!

  • Ronni

Were your ice cream cakes this summer? Because I did a couple of versions of those this summer. So easy and so good.
My favorites were the Thai beef (I use dark meat turkey) with basil and the rollups – I did the broccoli cheddar version and a spinach artichoke version that was delicious. Oh! And the lemon chicken.
Thanks for all the great recipes, Tracy.

  • Juliet

Just wanted to let you know that I love all of your posts- the recipes and the photography are amazing, and your blog is one of my favorites ever! I’ve made your banana bread a bunch, some potato recipe of yours, and more I can’t remember. Everything’s great- thank you so much and happy holidays!

  • Jenna

Now I have to add all of these to my list-of-things-to-make for next year! I absolutely loved the Apricot Glazed Chicken. I could probably eat it every night. I made it with Orange Marmalade and that was super good too!

  • Libby

I made the thai basil beef and it has been a game changer at our house, too! It was glorious with coconut rice and the carrot slaw. Oh, I love it.

  • Lori

I love this post! A great reminder of some recipes I still want to try. Happy New Year, Tracy!

  • India

In 2014, your “Most Popular” list made me make lemon chicken throughout 2015. My family DEVOURED it the day after Christmas and my mom was so thankful for the new idea. This morning I was making my weekly grocery list, stumbled upon this post, and just made your Chicken Parmesan. My husband said “This may have been the best thing you’ve made all year.” That comment isn’t true because I’ve made many of your other recipes, but thought it was quite a compliment to YOU.

Thank you for helping what comes out of my kitchen delicious and inspiring me! I took up coloring in 2015, all thanks to you, and many of my friends hopped on board too.

Hope you’re finding time to rest, color, and take photos. Thankful for your blog!

    • Tracy

That is so sweet!!!!! Thank you for letting me know! I wonder what will be the hit in 2016! We shall see…

  • Shana

Your thai basil beef became a welcome addition to our meal rotation. Thank you for another fantastic year!

  • Jessica

Ditto to the request for more sandwiches — we love you, Tracy!

  • Niki C.

I would love to see more prep ideas. I just made the slow cooker pulled pork last night, and about 15 reset button salads! Super excited to get this year started off in the right direction but I’m always looking for more 🙂 (aren’t we all)

  • Julie

What’s with the melted cheese thing?? My daughter won’t eat it either – no quesadillas, no grilled cheese, not even any mac and cheese. Why don’t they realize they are missing the good stuff??? We all love your lemon chicken though and have it probably once a week this time of year.

  • Jen

Yes! Love the pulled pork and coconut noodles – and please do share your new organization system _ your last one inspired me so much that I got organized and am LOVING it. Happy 2016!

  • Kate

Oh my gosh, I want it all!! Happy New Year Tracy!

  • Abby

I would love to see your switch to the binder organizing system in your bags!

  • Pam

Happy New Year Tracy! I am so surprised at the most popular posts list… they are almost all meat. As a vegetarian I love how balanced your blog is. Thank you for being so generous to share your journey through life with us. I look forward to all of your posts!

    • Tracy

Thanks so much, Pam! I made a ton of salads this year and it shocks me that a lot of them didn’t get a lot of buzz. Different strokes, for different folks! I’m glad you appreciate the vegetarian recipes 😉

  • Hannah

I’ve fallen hard for your sambal chicken skewers! Since it’s not grilling season here in the midwest, I’ve been chopping the chicken into pieces, searing it in the cast iron, and giving it a quick broil. That sauce/marinade is so stellar!
