  • Lia

I love how you call Cooper your little nugget, that’s my nickname for my 4 year old too! Also, your kitten is adorable, can’t wait to see what you call her 🙂

  • Lauren

Who is Leo? How about Leo the lion? Or Charlotte since you mentioned a cobweb? And a drink? Lol Just some “obvious” name ideas based in your post

  • Jemma

A kitty!!! I’m so excited for you! Can’t wait to read/watch the chronicles of your new cat.

  • Sarah

That is the cutest kitty I’ve ever seen! What big eyes – and ears! Adorable.

My first thought was Grigio, as a little nod to Pinot. 😉 But I’m excited to see what you choose, too!

  • Jenna

Ooh what a beautiful cat! Is she an abyssinian? I look forward to hearing what you name her. My guesses would be… Merlot, Orecchiette (haha, I love her huge ears) or Zula.

  • Monica B.

One frame after the other….I wanted to shrink down and walk into each one to explore, wander further, experience the adventure….”wish I was there”…even the tomatoes! The kitties are so beautiful. I’m looking forward to stories of your new friend and the name she will have. Happy Sunday!

  • Paula

Your new cat is completely adorable. Can’t wait to see more pictures of her on here and on your instragram feed!

  • susan

SO, so thrilled and happy that you have a new kitten and she is gorgeous. I know how hard it is to say that “big” goodbye to a much loved pet as I’ve said goodbye too many times to pets cats and dogs I couldn’t my imagine life without. A house is not a home without at least one pet (we share our home with 3 cats and 1 dog ;-)I’m a fan of people names for cats … like Veronica, Rachel or Louise

I’ll take this opportunity to also say I LOVE your site and especially the weekly “my everyday life” posts and photos – I’ve been following for years and years and this could be my first comment.

    • Tracy

Thanks so much, Susan! I’m glad you commented! Nice to have you here.

  • Stasha

Congratulations on the new kitty- she’s too cute!

  • Pam

Love this weekly installment! I’m sure your life is not all rainbows but your pictures really highlight all the good stuff – I love it. So happy for you guys that you have a new pet!

    • Tracy

Definitely not all rainbows. But I find life is better when you pay attention to rainbows instead of getting stuck in the rain.

  • Kate

I saw your snapchat story and I was hoping you were bringing a kitten home! I know you still miss Pinot. It’s always so hard to lose a pet, but a house feels so empty without a cat to me.

    • Tracy

our house just didn’t feel right without having a little buddy around. we are so happy!!!

  • Kate

I like the name “Lupe” for a cat. I thought of it after I named my kitty.

  • Theo

New kitty is gorgeous! Shiraz? 🙂

  • JessicaB.

Beautiful pictures, as always! I love these Everyday Life posts and I look forward to them every week. SO happy for you and the family for getting another kitty and another one soon! I like “Shiraz” and “Rose'”! Can’t wait to see more pics and learn the names!:)

  • Hilary

We have an abassynian and her name is Tesla. We like naming things after inventors/physicist. How about Curi and Maddi for Marie Curie?

  • mary

i love your kitty! and i’m beyond thrilled that you’re getting siblings! we had a few dogs oner the years, and have concluded that pets need companionship (my hubby and i work full-time outside the house) to keep them emotionally healthy… hubby has allergies, so i’m constantly on the hunt for kitties that might not bother him. grew up with cats, and LOVE them. this one is such a beauty, and she (and her sister) will be SO loved!

  • Alicia

I am SO excited you got a new furry friend. If you are getting a pair, may I suggest some of the best cat names I have came across (and I work for an animal rescue–i see *lots* of cat names!): Waffles and Pancakes, Taco and Bean, Harold and Maude, Cassidy and Sundance, Ringo and John.

    Happy cat naming!

  • heather

woo-hoo! Congratulations on your new baby and pending arrival. Super cute – can’t wait to see more. Man, it’s times like this when I wish we could hear you & Joy hash out some kitty names on the podcast. Love that we’re seeing some Casey in the blog sometimes now too. Thanks for all your amazing posts and recipes.

  • Beverlily

Can’t wait to meet my new Grandcats!!

  • Pat

Beautiful kitty! What about Buttercup for her and Peanut (Butter) for her sister?

  • Kari

That’s such a cool experience that you got to do a meetup at the library before it opened. I love libraries and am obsessed with taking photos of books!

  • Bonnie

Love your photos, Tracy, esp the magic hour succulent. Gorgeous! So happy you have a new buddy in the house. They’re like a living elements with a different hum — so quiet without. Love the name mentioned, Shiraz. Pets like those sibilant sounds. Also like Zulu, that someone suggested. Or Xena. Or Sauvi. Totally different direction: Porter. Good choosing!

  • Norine

Heyyyy Tracy… loved this week’s collections of photos. Especially the hiking one….and now I need to know where that is? Cali or BC? Was it taken on your trip up to Van City? Would LOVE living where hiking like that is accessible. And awesome job in your lettering class. I’m taking one this week – hope mine looks half as good as yours! Cheers!

  • Leah

For some reason I saw your cat and immediately thought of the name “Satchel”. Maybe because he/she is the same color as one.

  • Kelly

I just love your photography – the way you see things and frame them! And how does Cooper look like such a big kid?!?! I have a son just a little younger than yours, and it’s hard to not see him as the little boy he is in my mind.

  • Aimee

I love your photos! The kitty is so cute 🙂 What breed of cat is it?

  • JoAZ

Congratulations on your new member of your family, she’s beautiful. She will make your heart feel better, I know how difficult it’s been for you, I so miss my girl, but our Addie makes it better. Cooper is such a handsome young man. Love your blog beautiful and so special.
    Have a wonderful weekend!
