It was so nice to be right on the beach. I’ve never had a room with a view like this before.

I threw my back out this week. Not fun when you spend 9 hours in the car.

It’s so cute to see how excited he gets when he’s at a hotel.

Sometimes I just stare at him because I can’t believe I made him.

Roadtrip food:

Subway veggie sandwich with pepper jack, pepperoncini, pickles, onions, lettuce, mustard, tomato and cheese doritos. Oh yeah and it’s toasted. Bam.  It was this or McDonald’s….

I’ve been in the blogging world for many, many years. I read a lot of blogs.

Shh…..don’t tell the others, but yours is my fave. Those “I love lists” on Fridays? Turn Friday into “Fri-yay!” . 🙂 Seriously, your corner of the internet is such a joy to me in this season of life. I thank you.

  • Monica B.

    Good Monday Morning to you!

I’ve said it before, I love checking in on this west coast page. I was away on a much needed vacation and I stepped off of everything, so to speak. You share such wonderful photos and they are encouraging and inspiring. I love the pic of your toes in the sand and the beach – that’s where I was at a beach, off season on the east coast, toes in the sand. I could comment on every pic, but I will just say: BRAVISSIMO!

  • Rachael

Do I spy with my little eye Julia Turshen’s Kim Chi avocado toast? I went to see her this week and I fell in love with her warmth and easy way of cooking! I hope there are Julia Turshen recipes coming this way on the blog!

  • Linda

That picture of Eleanor is absolutely stunning!
The Three Chellies: The New Millennium (Cooper, Henry and Cole), how
cute is that? Phil and are are so happy you came to
Kara’s wedding. Your photos, as always are breathtaking.
    You are loved, T.

  • Katie

Oh that I could hire you to follow around my family of four and document our everyday life…every photograph is as lovely as can be, thanks for sharing!

  • Lori

The table setting at the wedding was gorgeous and so are your beach pictures!

  • Hannah

Pretty wedding makeup! Going to a wedding this weeked, their website says the dress code is Casual Fromal…what in the world is that?? HELP!

(My 6 year old also loves hotels, and I still can’t believe that I made him either.)

    • libby

Casual Formal? Oof, good luck. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to bust out the tuxedo t-shirt.

    • Tracy

what?!! well, at this wedding the groomsmen wore vans with their suits….so maybe it’s something like that. HA

  • Christa

We have the same Subway order!

  • Jamie

I also stare at my little man sometimes (play with his hair, hold his hand, Mom stop!) for the same reason – we made that! And he’s awesome! = )

  • Emma

So fun to see your photos from Laguna. I grew up just up the street from where you were staying!

  • Stasha

What a beautiful wedding! Looks like you guys had a great time. Just wanted to say that Cooper is cutest!

  • Julie

Sorry to hear about your back. That happens to me from time to time and it’s the worst. Hope you are feeling better!!

  • Theresa

I just love your photos! You’re captions are the best…I always have to take a second look and see what I missed! Is that an electric typewriter next to your Small Victories cookbook?

  • Melissa

I’ve loved your blog for ages! And I love Laguna – can you tell me where you guys stayed?

  • Heidi

I just love your blog. Your photo posts are always so inspiring. I hope you do a post on bullet journaling!
