Intentions for the Week

Looking to get your head in the game? Tracy from Shutterbean makes a weekly TO DO LIST called her Intentions for the Week. Here's what this week looks like:

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was pretty good! We had a nice adventure day at the Russian River yesterday, so I wasn’t able to do my normal Sunday Meal Prep. OH WELL!

I’m writing this late Sunday night…trying to get my head in the game for this coming week. Some of my plans last week were derailed because I wasn’t feeling 100%. I got a bee sting on my scalp that made all my lymph nodes in my head and neck swell up. I went to the doctor and found out that there’s not much I can do… it’s been quite annoying and uncomfortable so if anyone knows what to do about swollen lymph nodes, HELP. My doctor just said take Advil and it will go away eventually. Apparently I am supposed to get extra rest, but I’m having a hard time doing that.

Cooper is at camp this week, so I hope to accomplish a bunch of things that I didn’t get around to. I was able to use some of my time last week and clean up our garage and it made such an impact on my mental health.  This week I am going to try to find another spot that’s a source of stress and clean it up. Maybe I just need to wash the outside of my car? It is SOOOOOOO dusty/dirty right now. We’ll see. Here are my Intentions for the Week:

If I can be so bold as to offer a suggestion for an organization project to blog about… I desperately need to get my desk in order and have nooo idea how to get started! So, if you have a desk that needs straightening, you’d make at least one reader very happy by documenting it!

Love your blog. I hope your week is equal parts restful and productive, and that the swelling goes down quickly!

  • Scarlett

Drinking lots of water, advil, and rest usually will do the trick. It’s so hard when you’re busy though. “Do the best you can” is just such good, simple advice that I needed to hear, I think! Any tips for fitting in exercise while working and trying to do creative projects? I always have good intentions to work out/walk/do yoga/whatever either in the evening or morning and work on a painting after I get home from work but I just get overwhelmed trying to mentally schedule it all that I usually get NOTHING done when I get home… 😐

  • Abby

Oh no, that bee sting sounds awful! Sending healing vibes your way! My intentions this week are:

    – Sweep and mop basement floor
    – Finish setting up bedroom
    – Clean upstairs bathroom
    – Meal prep work lunches
    – Take out all garbage
    – Take puppy for long walks every evening

My Intentions for the Week never change, makes it easier at my age! Theodore Roosevelt is my inspiration: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” I doubt that he was referring to intentions, but I like this approach. Hope you are recovering from that nasty bee sting.

  • Adie

Sorry to hear about the bee sting, I can only imagine how uncomfortable that would be. Hope you enjoyed your day trip up to my ‘hood! The river is perfect this time of year, and Johnson’s beach reminds me of an old summer movie…
About blog posts; not the sexiest idea, but I’m curious how you handle the litter box situation in your house. I can’t seem to find a good spot for it that is out of the way, and if you have any tips for keeping the area tidy.
    Have a great week!

I am allergic to bees and will swell up all over my whole body when i get stung. Taking an antihistamine really helps speed up the reduction in swelling, but it might make you sleepy. One before bed might be just the thing. Hang in there!

Also, LOVE Cheaper By the Dozen. One of my favorite books of childhood. You know about the sequel, right? It’s called Belles on Their Toes.

  • Jamie

Well the week started with my little guy waking up sick Sunday then turning 5 yesterday and finding out he has strep throat (we’ll always remember 5), so while he’s feeling better already it has thrown me off a bit. Therefor, my intention for the week (I’m taking a page from your book):

“Find another spot that’s a source of stress and clean it up.”

    = )

    • Tracy

Oh gosh. Strep is no joke! Good luck with your week. I wish you the best!
