My Everyday Life: Week 41

Here’s what this past week look like-  My Everyday Life Week 41:

We’re about a 40 minute drive from all of the fires in Sonoma County/Napa/Calistoga.

Our family is safe. Thank you to everyone who checked in on us!

We’re experiencing a lot of smoke and a bunch of flying ash where we live.

Our family in Calistoga had to evacuate. They came over to stay with us.

I got to color with my niece!

I am glad that you are safe, and hope that your family’s home is as well. Such a terrible situation, and so many sad stories. Did you have to keep Lily and your cats apart from each other? LOVE the photo of her with Cooper. Thank you for sharing. I am not an artist, but your blog is inspirational to me in so many ways. I want to up my photography game, but I will never have your eye.

    • Tracy

Your eye gets better with more practice! Look at my blog 9 years ago 😉 AND THANK YOU!

  • Darlene

I’m glad you’re all safe. We began our week with your pancakes–a small circle of happiness on a plate.

  • chuck

We’re always haunted by the things we didn’t buy.

  • Jane M

I’m glad to hear you are safe. The pictures of the devastation is so upsetting. I enjoy your handwriting posts also. Very inspiring. I’m knitting – it helps to calm my nerves in these crazy times we are living in.

  • Linda Renzulli

A huge heartfelt thanks from Phil and I for taking in Jamie, Jonnike, Abby and the kitty! As you can imagine, as parents we continue to worry about them but knowing they are safe and well fed is a profound relief. You guys are the best!

  • ELLEN

Praying that you continue to be safe and out of the reach of those terrifying wildfires! Cooper is going to be a heart breaker in a few short years, he is such a handsome fella already. Thank-you, always enjoy “My Everyday Life” so much!

  • Jessica

I’m in SF and we’ve been getting a lot of smoke over here as well. Glad you and your family are okay!

  • Nicole Russell Willis

Your crouton pic reminded me – there’s a restaurant called Tom + Chee in Colorado (think grilled cheese and tomato soup) – they have great salads and the croutons are little crispy squares of cut up grilled cheese sandwiches!!! 😉

  • Beth

Oh man, I just have to say i feel you on the smoke. I live in BC,Canada and this summer BC was hit by forest fire after forest fire. We somehow where spared where we live while it felt like the world was burning around us. I have to say that after a long summer of intense heat and smoke-filled air that keeping an essential oil diffuser on helped keep our home from feeling heavy. Spending alot of time indoors can be hard and it really helped! So happy to know you and your family that had to evacuate are ok, and Lily looks like such a sweetie!

  • Deb

That sausage (with the pancakes) cracked me up! I have a silly brain.
