My Everyday Life: Week 49

Here’s what this past week looked like- My Everyday Life – Week 49

This week all of my energy went into working on my mom’s obituary and the service for her.

I wore pantyhose at her service and everyone gave me a hard time.

I really should have worn my trusty overalls.

When you’re in an elevator in the city that has a chaise lounge in it, you gotta pose.

He’s also wearing my socks. HA

I have been through so many tunnels in the last few weeks. Back and forth between Marin and San Francisco. A lot more motion than I am used to. I’ve been enjoying being driven around though. My daydreaming brain is satisfied.  Thank you, husband.

I am so grateful for that. She made me a gorgeous paper flower magnolia.

Being around a lot of people at the funeral and dealing with a lot of different emotions at once was very hard for my introvert brain. I am so thankful for my family though. We have all been working really hard to be there for each other and I know that would please my Mom.

I’ve been in self-care mode this weekend.

I got to go on a few introvert/maj adventures!

Out to dinner with family. No screens at the table. Drawing is encouraged. Especially if the table has a paper tabletop. I showed Cooper the cats in nativity scene link from my list this week and he was obsessed. He drew a cat in a manger. Haha.

Going through some pictures this week. My mom had them ALLLLL over the house. A good reminder to spend time gathering your photos & organizing them! I found this one of me in Kindergarten.

That rainbow was soooooooo rad.

Oh yes your Mom will be with you forever – this I know! Take Care!

  • Alex

    I’m sorry for your loss.
Please be careful with the lilies, their pollen causes liver failure in cats. You probably already know that and your cats are probably not insane weirdos who eat everything like mine are. But, I just had to share in case you didn’t.

Oh gosh, Tracy the buck picture is unreal. This is my first time commenting on here, but I follow you on Instagram (and I used to listen to yours & Joy’s podcast back in the day) . And I’ve been wanting to send you a postcard, so I’m glad you posted your p.o. address. I haven’t lost a parent, so I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I’m glad there’s so much love and support in your life. My thoughts are with you and your family. ❤

  • Nicole G

Love your pics. You have amazing vision. Take care of yourself.

  • Rachel

I’ve been thinking a lot about you the last few weeks. I’m glad to see Joy is there with you during this tough time. i appreciate your honesty with all of us during this time, I can’t even imagine what you’re going through.

    • Kenzie

Agree with everything Rachel said. You & Joy are both amazing and inspiring women and I’m happy you had her there with you this week. I always enjoy the beauty you find in everyday life and am grateful you’ve continued to share with us even during this impossibly hard time. Love to you and your family <3

Ditto to Rachel and Kenzie – it feels disingenuous to me to say I’ve been thinking about you a lot since we’ve never met, but it’s still so true. Your willingness to “let us in” during this time in your life has been humbling and so poignant. It’s caused me to do some real soul-searching about my relationship with my Mom. Truth be told, we don’t have a good relationship at all. But, your loss has caused me to stop and reflect on it.

You’ve really made an impact in my life through your creativity, your vulnerability, and your spirit. Will continue keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers this holiday season….

    • Tracy

      Thank you so much, Rachel!

  • Hannah

Looks like quality “maj time” ❤

  • Cristina

Tracy, thanks for Sharing. Love your old pictures, remind me of mine (I have a very similar one, but instead of a rainbow we had a sun). Your mom will always be with you, Take care and do take life a step at a time.

    Cristina

  • Susan

I’ve been reading about the death of your mother, and it hits home hard. I’m so very sorry. My mom died last summer, somewhat unexpectedly, and I’m still struggling.

But I did want to say…. you must be my people. I found that exact card in my mom’s things! She was fabulous as well.

Lots of (((hugs))), love and peace.

  • Diana Lopes

I simply love your photos! You make everyday things look astounding. Thanks for sharing!
