The Italian Feast
A week before Christmas Eve, I was making ravioli with my mom for our Italian Feast.
It took over 4 hours of work. They were patiently waiting in my freezer for this special occasion!
They were worth the effort! I'll post the recipe this week...

# 4. Take a class to improve my knife skills.

On my 31 comes before 32 list, I set out to take a knife skills class. A few weeks ago, I was puttering around the internet looking for classes and found an Essential Knife Skills class at my local Sur La Table! After all the Thanksgiving preparations & the vacation away with family (don't get me started on how much energy was put into packing up this small family of three!) I decided to treat myself to a class on a Monday night, all by myself! Have I ever told you that I find chopping food to be fun and relaxing? Is that weird?
Thanks, Foodbuzz!
I attended the Second Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival.
I spent a lot of time with Joy, Janet, Allison & Danielle! Very fun!
Here's what happened:
On Friday night Joy & I went to the Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes!!!!
You are all soo sweet and awesome. You helped make my birthday SOOO special. You have no idea!
Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!!
Over a week ago, I vowed to eat healthy so I could totally go nuts on my birthday. If you are gonna go big, you might as well do it on your birthday, right?! I totally GORGED myself and rembered what it's like to have my stomach reach it's maximum capacity! Not pleasant...but totally worth it---especially the dessert part! Be patient, we will get to that in a second!
I started the day off by SMOTHERING coconut oil on my toast for breakfast (sorry not pictured). I'm like totally IN LOVE with coconut oil lately! It deserves its own post for sure! Look out for that soon!
My dad took me out to a really yummy Seafood lunch@ Swan Oyster Depot in SF for lunch!
We always get there pretty early to get a seat. I love going there with him. It's really old-timey & fun.

I thought it was funny to see a Keep Calm and Carry On poster on their walls!

I ordered an Anchor Steam & we got a dozen cherrystone clams on the half shell to start with.
Goodbye 2009!
We said goodbye to 2009 with lobster! It's been a wonderful tradition at my parent's house for almost 10 years.
Last night we had 25lbs between 7 adults. I'd say that's pretty good, right?

My brother Ryan showed Coop a few of the lobsters.

He was a bit fascinated by them.
