Memorial Day Weekend 2011

We ventured up north to Calistoga to hang out with Casey's family this Memorial Day weekend. There was some rain, sunshine & a whole lot of eating and drinking (what else is new?). Cooper got to play with his cousins and we all got to hang out in my sister-in-law's parent's gorgeous home. I took a few pictures with my cellphone because my digital SLR proved too heavy to carry when I had a drink in my hand.
Here's what we saw:

18 months
5 days ago Cooper hit the 18 month mark!!
For those of you who don't speak in the "months" language, I'm sorry! He's a year and a half! I remember laughing at people who said their kid's age in months. I thought it was quite irritating in fact! My brother totally makes fun of me. "Why can't you just say a year and a half?" Now as a parent, I know there's a huge difference between months. This is Cooper at 16 months. He has changed soo much!
Dozens of other moms have told me that this age is the best stage and currently I agree 100%. I feel like I now have a little buddy instead of a little baby. He actually listens and helps; which makes a gigantic difference! Don't get me wrong-I do miss my little baby! But with this kid weighing almost 30lbs, it's so nice to be able to hold his hand while walking down the street instead of carrying him!

A sweet 16 months
Cooper turned 16 months old yesterday.
A sweet 16...although he was Mr. Grumps. All 4 canines are coming in at once.
The words he says:
Car, dada, shoes, ball, hat, cat, cracker, please, pretty, cracker, bread, dis & dat (this and that)
They don't sound exactly how they are supposed to...we still find it super adorable.
He has said mama a few times...but prefers to call both Casey and I "dada."

He LOOOVES watching cars outside. Seeing the garbage truck makes his day.
Your first vacation, Cooper
You are almost 11 months old. Eek! That means we have to get a move on with your birthday party planning! Yikes.

This past weekend was your FIRST OFFICIAL VACATION!
We went to Lake Tahoe with your Nana, Papa & Uncle Ryan.
keep calm, carry on
Today was one of those mornings...where Coop woke ready to go before the sun came up.

in my head I'm screaming "MORE SLEEP MORE SLEEP"

but then I look at my 10 month old (YES! 10 MONTHS) and I see him ready to face the day.
He's got a zest for life and it reminds me...

These moments are fleeting and I should relax and enjoy a sunrise with my boy.
We wake up and eat breakfast together and prepare for the day. His cuteness is worth every second of sleep I lose.
Just get me another cup of coffee please!
