Homemade Chocolate Syrup
makes about 2 cups
recipe adapted from All Recipes
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 dash salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk continuously until the mixture reaches a gentle boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and continue whisking while allowing it to simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the syrup thickens to your desired consistency. Stir in the vanilla and let it cool.
