Grape Cucumber Pear Juice

grape cucumber pear juice

I get the feeling that everyone who owns a juicer is juicing this week. Am I right or am I right? I was toying with the idea of doing another 3-day juice cleanse this week, but my head’s not there yet. I’ve got have a whole box of crackers in the pantry and a few coconut lime bars (recipe soon!) to eat through first. I did however, juice til dinner on Saturday and that felt pretty great.

In the 3 Day Cleanse book, they describe this juice as being “very clean tasting.” After my eat week, that was all I needed. The grapes are sweet & juicy. The pear & cucumber are both pleasantly mellow and the ginger is a nice kick in the pants. This what I like to call a spa juice. Put some cucumber slices on your eyes, wrap a towel around your head and drink away. Clothing is totally optional.

And we’re off!

There’s nothing to it. Just fruits & a veg.

And juice!

And JUICY JUICE.

Spa juice! You’ll see what I mean.

Hey! If you’re new to juicing or curious about it, check out my Juicing 101 post. I show you my juicer & how I use it.

Grape Cucumber Pear Juice

(recipe from The 3- Day Cleanse: Drink Fresh Juice, Eat Real Food & Get back into Your Skinny Jeans)

Serves 1

  • 1 pint (10oz. green grapes)
  • 1/2 large cucumber
  • 1 D’Anjou pear
  • 1 inch piece ginger

Wash ingredients, cut pears to fit into juicer. Juice grapes, cucumber pear then ginger. Run any wet pulp back through the juicer. Serve with ice.

  • Kate M.

GAH! I can’t wait till I can get a juicer! My husband hates “one-use kitchen items.” But I feel like this would be so worth it!

  • Kathryn

I think that this is the perfect antidote to a couple of days of overindulging. Even though we don’t have thanksgiving in the UK, I still feel like I really need this right now!

  • modernworkinggirl

Looks pretty good, I have to admit, even though I’m pretty married to my 2 cups of carrot juice a day!

  • Sara

That green looks a little daunting until you realize it’s grapes and pear. . . and cucumber! That’s a great combo. Sounds like something my body would enjoy right about now – I don’t have my own juicer, so maybe I’ll go shopping at Costco today and persuade the guy at the demo counter to make one for me 😀

  • Katrina

I need a juicer. This sounds great!

  • Heather (Heather's Dish)

i never thought juicing sounded that good, but this one actually sounds super refreshing!

  • Courtney @ Sunday Soup

You are so right! I pulled out the juicer last weekend and I’ve been making so much green juice the past few days and it feels so good. I’ve never tried juicing grapes (duh!) so I can’t wait to add them into my mix!

  • Helen

You make me want to buy a juicer just so I can try this recipe! It sounds so delicious. I became a convert of cucumber in drinks when I made Gin Garden cocktails this summer. Very refreshing!

  • Kellie @ Blackboard Kitchen

Hi Tracy! I just started reading your blog after listening to your first podcast with Joy (loving the podcasts so far!) and it is so cool to see your photos and props and such after hearing you talk about them. This juice looks so refreshing and delicious!

  • Leslie

I bought a juicer two weeks ago and we are loving it! I love the sound of this juice. It is definitely time to detox!

  • jackie @ marin mama cooks

I will try this as I am always looking for more cleansing juices. I make a similar cleanse juice. I use my vita mix and put in 3-4 kale leaves, 1 whole cucumber and 2 granny smith apples plus about 2 cups of water and some ice. It’s refreshing!

  • Teresa

Holy heckballs this is my favorite juice! If I didn’t love food so much, I would just drink this 24/7…now I need to go make some. Thanks for the reminder 🙂

  • Lindsay

I want to juice SO bad, and this one looks positively delightful. Hopefully Santa will be good to me this year and I can get one soon. 🙂

  • Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn

Ahhh! I’m a ‘tard for never using grapes in my juicer. Whaddafuh. It’s happening.

  • JenMarie

I really need to try this. Juicing always seemed silly to me, but the more I hear about it, it is starting to sound really good and really good for you. I never thought I’d like it, but this really looks/sounds tasty. I may have to get a juicer!! I wonder if I could try using a food processer or blender first to see if I like it.

  • Jerilyn

I think ‘Juicer’ just bumped ‘Immersion Blender off the top of my Xmas Wish List. Any juice that tastes like a spa is a-okay with me!

  • Julie @BananasForBourbon

I must say, your juice concoction sounds delightful. But your juice concoction with optional clothing status? Positively enticing!

  • Pam

OMG! I have this book, too! It is awesome! If anyone does not have this book yet, you should buy it! Or put it on your gift list for the holidays. 🙂

  • Danielle

    You are SUCH a tease!!

  • marci

“so sweet and juicy!” I know I’m gonna sound like a nut, but there is this Regina Spektor song – I think it’s called “Tangerine” – if you don’t know it, it’s like a bit of a throwback-sounding song and it has a rad bass and at one point she sings “so sweet and juicy!!” and that’s what popped into my head when I read this post. sorry, but I had to share…it’s been a long day and I’m feelin’ a bit punchy (pun intended). LOL

  • Leslie

Oh yes, I think everyone’s juicing this week (or thinking about it). I want to do the BPC 3-day juice cleanse and am going back and forth on dropping that much cash on three days of juice!! Is it worth it?? I could do it with my own juicer, but that would be TONS of cleanup all day for three days. (And probably not near as tasty). Or go to Whole Foods and get their fresh juice, but probably not the same quality considering they use a centrifugal juicer. Hmmm…..

  • Pam

Leslie, it is DEF worth it. when I did my first cleanse (I used BPC’s 3 day cleanse book), I spent about that much on organic produce. Plus, the time it took to prepare everything and clean the machine was so time consuming. I love making juices on my own, howev, if I cleanse from now on, I’d rather someone else do all the work for me. Makes getting through the cleanse that much easier and I need all the help I can get. haha. I follow their facebook page and they recently posted an increased group discount (3 people or more is 15% and 8 people or more is 20%). Good way to save money.

    • Tracy

Exactly, Pam! Plus if you have all that produce around you might be tempted to eat it! It made cleansing soo easy because I didn’t have to do any work.

    • Leslie

Thanks, good to know! Well, that makes me feel good just to go for the BPC knowing that the produce itself would cost about the same. And I’d probably go through a lot more since my juicer is centrif., over the BPC’s hydraulic press, which extracts a lot more….

      • Pam

Let know how your cleanse goes! And, if you find any good juicing recipes. I love trying new ones out.

  • Redhead in the Kitchen

So refreshing! I’m trying this tomorrow morning. My sister let me borrow her juicer, and I have yet to use it. This looks perfect for breaking it in!

  • Heather

I have a juicing question, will the juice last longer than a day? Like can you make a couple day’s worth at a time, or does it start to degrade after a few hours? Maybe a dumb question, but I don’t know!

    • Tracy

Not a dumb question! What I’ve read is that the juice will degrade (vitamin wise) greatly after day one. It’s always best to drink your juice within day one. Drink the sooner the better!

  • The Healthy Apple

Beautiful; love your blog and so happy I found it. Your recipes are amazing. Yummy! Have a wonderful holiday season.

  • Joelle

Mom just gave me her old juicer at Christmastime! Can’t wait to try this juice and all the juices you post!!
I just did the Apple, Beet (i juiced the beet greens too) and Carrot tonight! It was sooo good, I’m hooked!
Love your blog and the homefries podcast!

  • The Insurist

Just made this juice after googling “juicing pear.” Added an apple and loved it. Thanks for the post!
