I’m pleased to announce that Trader Joe’s Truffle Brownie Mix is kickass. There’s bits of chocolate chips in every bite!
I made a batch last night for our weekly Project Runway girls night and they were a hit! I ate two brownies before I even left my house. *slaps wrist* That’s why I brought a *plate* of them to my friend’s house…. No evidence of the ugly gouged corners.
Just follow the instructions (add 2 eggs and a stick of butter). And then be a rebel like me and add an Andre-the-Giant sized handful of chopped pecans/walnuts/what-have you. Do it. Do it.
And then save yourself a little corner piece to have with your morning coffee….because it was such a wonderful way to start a gloomy rainy today. Imagine living in a world where brownies for breakfast was the norm…

I’m running to the pantry right now… I think I bought this mix a few weeks ago…OMG, I did!!! I’m going to make them today. (I was going to Trader Joe’s today anyway, but thanks for the reminder.)
I love your blog Tracy. It makes me want to be your BFF. Not in a stalkery knda way, just in a friendly kinda way.
simply delish. i really don’t know why I didn’t eat more! stupid!
Mmm, brownies for breakfast!
I made the brownies and a recipe for breaded pork chops from Smitten Kitchen. Mmmmmmm. I think I could die and go to food heaven right now. Thanks for the inspiration.
Lol! Actually, it’s a tradition in our household to eat cake/pie/whatever-miscellaneaus-dessert-that-happens-to-be-lying-around for breakfast. It never occurred to me until I grew up that this might be abnormal (I mean really, is it that much worse than the alternatives?).
Thanks for the rec – I’m tempted to pick these up for the company coming over tomorrow! Better yet, I should make them when no one’s coming over . . .
I found my way to your blog via Flickr. I love Trader Joes too! Enjoying reading your posts and your recipes! Fun blog! I’ll be back!
