OUTFITTING: Gray/Red/Yellow

OUTFITTING: GRAY/RED/YELLOW

Autumn colors wash out my skin tone. WOMP WOMP. Orange, crimson, brown, burgundy &  eggplant are all no-go. BUT!  I really love a good GRAY/RED/YELLOW combo during this time of year and here is an example of my perfect Autumn weekend outfit.  It’s casual yet makes a bold statement.  I love grays because they act as a great neutral. Look at how much the yellow and red POP when paired with gray. I’m ready to go on a city art museum adventure with fancy cake & coffee in this look.

I loooooooooooove that bracelet! And the bag… and the pants… and the T… so yeah, I like it all!!! 🙂

I love this outfit! I totally have the same problem – I can’t wear A LOT of colors because I get washed out majorly. I love that I can wear the grey tee of my dreams and still have a lil’ fall color too! Dig.

Orange is definitely a no no for me. I love that scarf!

Love! Also, we need to plan this art adventure. I still wanna try that cake!

  • Jane M

Aha heck yeah I’ll take that bracelet!

  • Dale

Interesting – i have zero yellow in my wardrobe but i love red and grey – i never would have thought to pair yellow with them!

grey+yellow is one of my favorite too 🙂

I’ve had that very satchel for years and I love it. I get loads of compliments on it. It’s a glorious thing in the wet grey horribleness of February.

I really dig that sweater. Makes me want to go out and find a new chunky sweater for the winter. I believe Marshalls is overflowing with them right about now…

I wish I could wear red, but my skin has so much pink/red in it, I feel like wearing it makes me look like a tomato.

I’ve been on the hunt for a sweater like this too! I have yellow/olive skin so too much red doesn’t look right on me.

I love yellow! Such a happy colour. Unfortunately my skin tone is not flattered by anything from lemon to buttercup. I haven’t really bought any yellow accessories though, which would be a great alternative – such as that awesome bag 🙂
Love the neckline on that coat too 🙂

Love the bag! I live in Cambridge, England and walk by the shop often and swoon over their awesome bags in all sizes and colors…new patterns too!

  • Chloe

I love that you’re doing outfit posts now! I still think about doing the “photo an outfit a day” thing to remember what I have/what pairs well… I need to get on that!

    • Tracy

Thanks! I take pictures of my outfits on my phone and save them into a folder so I can check them out and get ideas. It’s SO NICE to have access to my wardrobe that way.

  • Katie

I bought that yellow bag last fall and discovered if you buy it directly from Cambridge Satchel they’ll do it up with a gold or silver embossed monogram, which is pretty darn cute, too.

    Holy adorable outfit.
