My Everyday Life: Week 50

HERE’S WHAT THIS PAST WEEK LOOKED LIKE: My Everyday Life Week 50

Spent a lot of time at the post office this week!

Thank you for all of your food journal orders. I am going to probably have more in my Etsy shop in the new year.

I had a helper with our Christmas cards this year. I am so glad I thought to ask for help because he made the process faster!

I like addressing our cards myself. I use a stamp for our address. I’m not crazy enough to write our address on all of them. That would take foreverrrrrrrrr.

When I need something to focus on, I pull a tarot card.

This one was good.

I like seeing the words Cooper has to spell each week. Sometimes I make a story in my brain with them.

Taco night!  I am in a food rut currently.

My brother-in-law’s candied jalapenos are making me pretty happy right now.

I wrote a letter and realized how hard I was pressing with my pen when I turned over the paper.

It’s fun to introduce Cooper to things from our childhood.

The subtle blue in a foggy morning as the sun rises.

One of my favorite things to eat right now is the cold smoked salmon from Trader Joe’s with cream cheese on toast with arugula.

Our friends have a bar in their house.

If I was a kid, I would hang out there all day long and play bar.

Cooper’s friend brought over a gingerbread house kit that didn’t work.

How ironic it was that we were watching Nailed It on TV earlier.

Look close. It says Casey.  My husband made this when he was little and my father-in-law saved it.

These little things make me so happy.

I am on a smoked salmon kick too! Have you tried the hot smoked salmon filet from Trader Joe’s? Its THE BEST!!! Sending you lots of love. Thanks for sharing the beautiful, thoughtful pics. Always makes me reflect on the little things from my week. xo

You are a mom, you have stories! Fill out a book for your son. (Maybe do a book for your son with your mom’s stories that you know. Be sure to get your dad’s stories. Recordings are fun as long as they are saved several ways.)

Gingerbread houses – I have put cardboard in the middle for support, works great. Sometimes something like a milk carton, cut down, fits perfectly. Also we use melted white chocolate to “cement” the pieces together. Then decorate with frosting. We use Royal Icong from the Country Kitchen in Fort Wayne, IN. The best.

My mom has always used a hot glue gun to construct our gingerbread houses, and then we use frosting to attach candy. Kinda cheating but whatever.
