You would think that after all of these years blogging (19!), I would have posted a recipe for Sparkling Limeade before. Nope. In all of the years of blogging, I have made:
-
Blueberry Limeade
-
Spicy Cucumber Limeade
-
Cilantro Limeade
-
Jalapeno Ginger Lime Spritzers
-
Brazilian “Lemonade”

Sol Food (the same place that makes my favorite chicken) makes an incredible limeade that pairs well with their food. I usually cut it with more sparkling water because I don’t like it toooooo sweet. This has been a great addition to my weekly meal prep. It helps us bypass buying soda, and that’s a huge win for me!
Three simple ingredients:

We are going to make a lime simple syrup. Dissolve the sugar in water over medium heat.

We are gonna get zesty!

Let’s let the lime zest infuse the hot simple syrup.

Squeeze the lime juice. Strain the zest out of the syrup.

Introduce them to each other.

Here’s your lime concentrate.

Mix with your favorite sparkling water. Ginger beer or ginger ale would be good additions, too!
Make a cocktail with it if that’s your thing.

Fill a glass with ice.

Add the lime concentrate. Top with sparkling water.

TADA!!

Stay hydrated!
makes about 2 1/4 cups concentrate
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon finely grated lime zest (from 2-3 limes)
- 3/4 cup lime juice (about 8-10 limes)
- sparkling water, for serving
- ice, optional.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Remove from heat and immediately stir in the lime zest. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes while it cools. Strain out the zest and discard.
Stir in the fresh lime juice once the syrup is fully cooled. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
To serve, mix 2-3 tablespoons concentrate with 1 cup sparkling water. Stir gently and taste to adjust.
