I JUST picked up my copy of Sabrina’s book Spilling Open off my bookshelf for a flip through. I remember being so excited to buy that book in college. It’s still beautiful and truthful and inspiring. So neat to see her here on your blog, a little spooky timing as I havent thought of her in a LONG time. Thanks universe! How’d you two meet?

  • Christina C

Curious how you make your black bean? My daughter loves beans and I would like to make these for her.

  • Lisa

    I second this!!

  • Susan

Cover the rice? (I may have missed it, of course)

  • Ellen W

I think my mom had that Mary Alden cookbook at some point – I love looking at vintage cookbooks from the ’50’s and ’60’s. There was a Betty Crocker entertaining cookbook which was a great peak into suburbia culture 50 years ago.

  • Toni

I would love to hear more about the Instant Pot black beans.
I love these Week in Review posts. I’m so glad that you still post them 🙂

  • JO

Can we see the black bag in the top of your photo of all your stuff when you were off to teach please?

  • Judi

I always enjoy your everyday life in pictures. You have an amazing eye. How fun that you and Emma had a craft date! I’m always on the hunt for fun crafts to do with my niece and nephew. The fingerprint art looks perfect for them. Any chance you’d be willing to do a few posts on the crafts you do with children? The Valentine’s crayon art was a favorite Thanks so much for your inspiration.
