September was weird, filled with some ups and downs. Cooper’s school started back up. We are glad to have Cooper back in school so we can work from home with less distraction. It’s been tough to juggle it all! We have had so many fires here in California that it makes every day unpredictable. When you’re stuck at home AND cannot go outside because of the air, it’s really a big bummer. Another bummer is that another one of my good friends moved out of California and that makes me so sad. Life is just not the same as it was!

Intentions for the Week – Week 40 of 2020

Happy Monday, friends! We had a busy weekend of entertaining! My oldest brother came over for dinner, we went to our neighbors for drinks, and then I had my Dad and his lady over for Sunday family dinner. I didn’t get a chance to do meal prep this weekend so I am hoping to get to do a small prep sometime during the week. Let’s see what’s going down this week. Hand Roll Sushi Night

What are the best dinners for any family/household with picky eaters? Ones where you get to choose your own adventure! During my childhood, I looked forward to taco night and burger night because my Mom laid out a bunch of ingredients and we all could play chefs and make exactly what we wanted. With the help of gimMe Snacks organic seaweed sheets, we are adding a new choose your own adventure meal to the rotation- Hand Roll Sushi Night!

I would have dreamed about a dinner like this when I was a kid. However, my Mom wasn’t a huge sushi fan and she probably wouldn’t have the patience for how much of the seafood my brothers took compared to her… This kind of meal is perfect for my family of three. I love how healthy everything is and it’s a great way to get some (sea) vegetables into our everyday life.

Autumn Bucket List 2020

Hi Friends! Today is the first day of Autumn and I wanted to share my Autumn Bucket List (from my Currently Workbook!) with you!

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year because I love being cozy under a blanket at home when it rains. It’s also a tender time because the season was my Mom’s favorite color scheme (she LOVED oranges and browns) and she passed away 3 years ago this Thanksgiving so a lot of stuff comes up. A new season is another reminder of how fleeting time is…and how we must take some time to stop, reflect, and savor it.

I spent a moment today thinking about what I want to do while this season lasts—

My goals include:

I will love with my whole heart and give thanks for being alive and healing.

We have made it through another week of staying (mostly) at home. This weekend I caught up with friends, did a bunch of housework, managed to do meal prep and grocery shop. We are off to a productive start to the week. HOORAY! Here are my Intentions for the Week this week.
