Organizing Tip: The Missing Sock
Laundry. It never ends, does it? Just when I think I'm square for the week, another load is waiting in the wings. My least favorite part is digging through our enormous pile of socks to find matches. I've actually traded 3 weeks of cat litter clean up with Casey so I didn't have to do it. That's how much I can't stand it. I'd rather clean up cat crap than match socks! The reason why I have so many socks? I keep buying them because I'm too lazy to match the ones I have. I'm also really behind on getting rid of the ones that haven't had a match in years. It's a vicious cycle, people. But I'm the first to admit I have a sock problem.
I was complaining about my sock situation to my friend Julie a few weeks ago and she showed me this awesome sorting trick. Let me tell you, it has totally changed my outlook on laundry. It makes sock sorting & folding so easy! No more huge, OVERWHELMING pile of socks to match up. With this tip, you simply pull out a few stacks of socks and you're ready to get matching.

The Ultimate Beverage Organizer!
Do you watch Cribs on MTV and pay close attention to the inside of celebrity fridges? I do, and I can always tell when celebrities have hired their own fridge stylist. All of the labels are perfect, there's a balance of fruits & vegetables and there's no take out containers. Celebrities get take out. Even though it's all for show, it doesn't stop me from wanting my own fridge to have beautiful rows of beverages, all lined up waiting to be restocked and organized. One of the things I disliked most about our old fridge was how hard it was to organize our beverages! Because we didn't have dedicated sections for beverages, we always jammed them in wherever we could. This meant that I had a TERRIBLE time figuring out what went where and I lost beverages in the process.
Let me take you on a little tour of our new Electrolux fridge with all of its cool beverage options!

What’s on my coffee table?!
Right now I have a firetruck, a green crayon, a ridiculous amount of wooden blocks & a sippy cup on my coffee table but last week I had this nice stack of books! It makes me feel powerful knowing that I have all this knowledge & inspiration at my fingertips. I must say that I SAVOR every second of reading time I get when Cooper's asleep. Reading at night is the best part of my day.
So here's another round of What's on my coffee table?!

My Current Fave Things GIVEAWAY!!!
I had fun putting together my first giveaway a few months ago and since then I've collected a few fun/ useful things for another round! ARE YOU READY?!
1. Kikkerland Gray Paper Straws. Aren't they pretty?? They help fancy up your beverages! I've been using these a lot lately. They are really nice if you want your swanky cocktail to stand out! Bonus-they're made out of paper so throw them in your recycle bin when you're done. I should note that they're sturdiest paper straws I've had. No soggy paper straws for you!
2. Breakfast- To- Go container from Martha Stewart for Macy's. In this little container, you can put granola, yogurt & berries and take it on the go with you! Your granola will stay nice and crunchy because it won't touch the yogurt until you're ready to eat it! The best part is that there's a little spoon included in the container! My only complaint is that it's not bigger! But I guess it's all about portion control. Whatever that means....
3. Ceramic Berry Container from Anthropologie! Do I need to say more?? See it in action here! When I'm out of berries, I keep my garlic in it. Nothing makes 4 heads of garlic look pretty like this little ceramic container!
4. The Perfect Grocery Shopping List by Knock Knock Pads. This is a LIFE SAVER! This notepad has many good categories for shopping including: Fruits, Vegetables, Canned Goods, Deli, Breads, Frozen Foods, Condiments, Snacks Meat & Fish, Dairy, Pasta, Baking, Pet Items, Household, Paper & Wrap....There's also room to write extra items that I might need....like parchment paper, paperclips & a nail file for when I'm trying to be Macgyver! I always carry a few sheets in my purse so I can come up with a list on the go! It also has a magnetic backing so it hangs nicely in my kitchen.
Casey has altered my notepad to say I'm ALL OUT OF love, I'm so lost without you.... (he's funny)
So there you have 4 of my favorite things right now. Want a chance to win them all?
Leave a comment below telling me.....

A winner will be picked at random next Monday! Good Luck!
What’s in my new freezer?
I was a bit worried about the configuration of our new Electrolux fridge because I've always had the impression that pull-out freezers have less storage. The install was a tad stressful because I had a TON of frozen items WAITING for a home and what if they all didn't fit?l!! When I finally put everything away in the new freezer I was SHOCKED because not only did all of the items fit, I had EXTRA ROOM. This is big news, people! It means I can be an even BIGGER freezer hoarder!!! Costco, HERE I COME!

Our new fridge is here!
Our new Electrolux fridge is here and I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE with it! It has exceeded ALL of my expectations!
Our old fridge had a side by side door configuration. Freezer on the left, fridge on the right. I always felt frustrated trying to organize with this configuration. It was really hard for me to see what I had in my fridge at a glance and don't get me started with how irritating it was to put beverages away! Since the old fridge was so narrow, I had to be clever at putting stuff away. As a result, food was hidden back in the deep crevices of my fridge...rotting away. It's kind of like how you get excited because your new apartment has really deep cabinets, but you end up losing everything in the waaaaaay back cuz you have stuff blocking your way to get to it. Needless to say, I wasted a lot of food as a result.
And here we have the new configuration...french doors on top & a pull out freezer on the bottom.
This is what I see at eye level. THE WHOLE DANG FRIDGE!! Oh my gosh you have no idea how much of a difference this makes. I can see ALL of the fruits & vegetables I have...all of the beverages...all of the condiments...pretty much EVERYTHING. It makes grocery list making a snap now!
It was really easy to put all of the food from my old fridge into the new one because there are so many levels and layers of organization. It's like getting a new purse that has every pocket you could possibly need or want. I'm still learning all the nuances of the new fridge...what should go where, what each drawer is good for and what all of the little buttons do, but I'm happy to report the fridge is installed and I'm totally loving it. I can't wait to show you the inside of my freezer. It's my favorite part!
It has already changed my life. Thank you, Electrolux!
